This is the best foodhall I've visited in any city with many themed "bars" for a light lunch. Prices OK for such as posh location.The shop itself is nice to wonder around but expensive by UK standards.
So lovely to be back in the foodhall at KaDeWe - a real paradise for us food lovers. There are so many different kiosks where you can sit and eat different cuisines - fish, french, thai, japanese, bavarian, american and etc - all freshly cooked. I had the boullaibaise which was excellent one lunchtime and a while grilled seabass on another. Yums!!
Its also enthralling browsing at all the wet and dry foods that are available from europe and elsewhere.
There appears to be some renovations going on but it didnt affect my enjoyment.
The only complaint I have is that this store closes too early (8pm) for me to have dinner there as well!
One little annoyance is that the cashier scans my 50 euros note which I find insulting. As if I would cheat her over such a paltry sum!
KaDeWe is similiar with Harrods, London which is all luxury brands.
If you are tourist spending minimum 25 euro, you can get back VAT refund of about 10%-14% for goods and 7% for food(unconsumed). You will need to bring your passport and credit card to complete the procedure. The VAT counter is located at 5th flr.
I am pleased to purchase skincare cleanser at discounted price. I guess they want to clear the stock. If I buy the same cleanser in my home country, it will cost higher at triple the price.
The food hall at 6th flr is quite expensive to me but I think it is worth to eat there one time just for the experience as everything looks delicious.
For us normal people this kaufhaus is a bit useless. Everything is gucci and DG. I got nothing and i wont be going back.
we had a lovely meal here you get a plate and you help yourself to food put what you want on there is a good choice get your drinks and when you go to pay they weigh the plate
