We did not have enough time to visit all the museums but it is a great place because they are in one area. We did do one museum, DDR Museum but wish we had chosen a different one as it was not well organized but did have a lot of information on East Germany History. Very crowded

Berlin has out done itself with Museum Island. Beautifully organized and presented, five world class museums, each of which would be worth a day of your time. If you only have time for two, I suggest the Pergamon and the Neues.

The museums in this area are worth a day or parts of more than one day -- Pergamon, Bode, New Museum and others. A pass for all of the museums can be purchased and then you can pick and choose the parts that interest you most. The plans for continued improvement and development of the Museum Island over the next 10-12 years are impressive.

Each museum charges a different entrance fee, so if you have time to see a couple definitly get discount tickets. If you only have time to walk around, also beautiful architecture, and the river views! Bring your camera!

We got the 72 hours Berlin Welcome Cards that included travel on all public transport in Berlin and entrance to all the museums at the Museum Island. I especially wanted to visit the Neues Museum specifically to see the burst of Nerfititi which we were able to do with this card. I was not disappointed with my visit to the Neues. Would recommend it. We were also able to visit the impressive Altes Museum and the Alte Nationalgalerie on our Berlin Welcome Card. We also took tram rides across Berlin just to catch the sights and sounds of Berlin. A nice way to easily spend 2-3 days in Berlin.
