“A piece of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

A must when visiting Berlin, so much history attached to this place, and well presented outdoor exhibition. This gate was significant in the history of the war and in the history of the Berlin wall. Very moving exhibition. Currently there are refugees on hunger strike there. Listen to their story.

“ruined by fraudsters”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

its a good sight but surrounded by boring embassies and beggars trying to make you sign a 'disabled' form thing. they then ask for money when you walk away. according to a tour guide they also pick pocket people and none are actually deaf, as they claim

fantastic sight, with the Holocaust Memorial right behind. It was lit up at night and was fantastic, good restaurant to the right as you look at the bridge

“impressive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

We visited Berlin during the festival of lights and this as well as other significant building and statues had light displays on them during the night which were good. The gate has a square were food and drink is more expensive I'd recommend taking a walk and getting a cheaper deal. The square was always busy and we used this central point to help us navigate the city

“Been There - Seen That - Check it off”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

It's so famous that a visit to Berlin that didn't include a pass-by the gate wouldn't be complete. Even Napoleion had to march through it! So go. Don't expect anything more than the gate though.
