“BRANDENBURGER TOR (BRANDENBURG GATE), BERLIN”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

A must in Berlin. Important historical site.
The Brandenburg Gate (German: Brandenburger Tor) is the former city gate, rebuilt in the late 18th century as a neoclassical triumphal arch, and now one of the most well-known landmarks of Germany. It is located west of the city centre of Berlin at the junction of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße, immediately west of the Pariser Platz.

Aslo a exebition for people who had to escape Hitler's Germany.

"Today you will love The Germans, wonderful people". I have the right to say: My parents was fighting Nazi Germany in last world war (freedom fighters in occupieded Denmark).
Please enjoy "the new Berlin". Great city!!!!

Please also see Adlon Hotel, 5 min. walk for here.

“Beautifull”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

The Brandenburg Gate is a stunning piece of architecture which stands in a really nice Plaza. On a sunny day it is a nice place to relax and take in the entertainment. This is also the place to pick up a ride around the city centre with unusual bikes, pony & traps etc for hire.

“Go at night”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

During the day the gate was very crowded except early Sunday morning(9am) so no good for photos. It looked more impressive lit up at night so I would recommend visiting when it is dark.

“Berlin/German History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

The Brandenburger Gate is situated at the end of Unter den Linden, a grand boulevard in Berlin. It was built around 1778-1791 originally part of a wall surrounding Berlin and was the main entrance to the city. It is the only gate that remains of the former city wall. Great sight with lots to see around it such as the Reichstag and the Tiergarten and Holocaust Memorial all very close to each other. The Gate has a Room Of Silence (Raum Der Stille), where you can sit and contemplate the momentous events that have happened on the site (or just have a breather from sightseeing).you can also get a Horse and carriage ride there that takes you for a ride around the area. a must see if you visit Berlin in Summer or Winter.

“A disappointing must see!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

From all the film I have seen of the Brandenburg Gate it was disappointing in person. Berlin has allowed it to be swallowed by buildings around it and the hawkers and people in Russian soldier suits offering to let you take their picture were a real distraction. It is like the Egyptian pyramids, better seen on A&E or the History Channel. Disappointing in person.
