This is well worth the visit. It is beautiful from the outside but you can book to visit the dome and it is free. You also can get an audio guide in multiple languages which is also free. The history they tell you about and the sights you see - this is not one to miss.

It is definitely worth a visit, even on a not such a day, the building itsself (the modern glass dome) is pretty interesting just to walk in...

I lived in Berlin in the days of the 'Wall' and remember the Reichstag as a derelict monument to a dreadful time in Germany's history.

It is now a working, living building and an absolute 'must see'! We booked a visit on line from the UK which meant no queuing on the day. The visit takes in Norman Fosters' dome which almost beggars belief in terms of the vision, the view and the engineering.

And it is FREE!!

Unfortunately we did not know that you had to book in advance to enter this building. But wandering around and appreciating the mix of old and new is worthwhile. The magnificent glass dome placed upon such a historic building looks like it has always been there.
