“Average Lunch”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Five of us recently had lunch in Emmas after seeing Jagerschnitzel on the menu.
Three of us had the schnitzel which had been pounded too thin for my liking, and was served with a creamy jager sauce which I think didn't have enough of mushrooms in it. The dish also came with sauteed potatoes, and a small salad, overall tasty enough.
One of the party had a chicken dish which she didn't enjoy, although a serving of apple strudel for dessert helped balance out her overall outlook a bit. The other party member had the veal goulash which she said was OK.
From what previous reviewers have said about other dishes, I think sticking with the various schnitzels is probably the best bet.

“Lunch set menus are recommended”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

If you visit the Berlin dom and tourist sights around Friedrich strasse, you will find that there are very limited number of restaurants near the area. I just passed by the restaurant and found the price of lunch set menu (especially Schitzel) was reasonable. (well, it is just a bit expensive compared to average price, but considering the condition of the area, it was okay.) So, I walked in. The staffs were kind and speak English well. Schnitzel was tasty. But Shrimp risotto was so so. The lunch special menu changes every week. If you can not find a reliable restaurants near the area, or you want to have a relatively nice meal in a well interiored restauratns, Emmas will be not a bad choice.

“Bad smell from the kitchen”
Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

Came in quite early but should have left immediately as the restaurant smelled with some frying smell from the kitchen. As more peole came in and more orders went to the kitchen the smell got worse and my eyes started burning, probably from the smoke. Smell followed me the rest of the evening. Got rid of it only after a shower an clothes sent to the laundry.
By the way - the food was o. K.

“Ok”
Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

Looked at trip advisor and thought great, why not! It seemed ok when we was seated however somebody was moving from our area? We ordered a beef roulade and a daily special of sea salmon with nut rice mmm ? The beef roulade was fantastic! How ever when the sea salmon arrived it was fried in bread crumbs, when cutting into it we discovered it was a white fish???? Now I really think salmon is always pink or orange and the nut rice was boiled rice with a few nuts sprinkled on top. On questioning the waiter about the salmon??? Being white and not pink he told me sea salmon is white (amazed) lol.
The fryers in this establishment need to be looked at or cleaned as the fumes really hurt your eyes, on questioning the waiter about this problem he assured us it was a regular complaint with a smile lol.
Oh then the waiter informed us the salmon was not salmon it was just the way the Germans translation came out.
Ok meals but the waiter/kitchen staff are blaggers

“Good food in a modern setting”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

The menu of this place centers around a half a dozen of different schnitzels. It may sound boring but the food is actually very good. I had a saltimbocca with rosemary potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious.

As the contents of the menu might imply, there is nothing exotic about the food here, just well done, standard-issue German food. The prices are quite reasonable too.

The place has a fresh, modern look and friendly staff that speaks good English. The service was a tad slow even though there were very few customers. Nevertheless, it is a good choice to have a meal and very centrally located.
