“Beautiful, cute little Berlin”

LOXX Miniatur Welten Berlin

This is really, really nice miniature of the Berlin city. Model is quite big and there are lots of details. It covers day and night - it's getting dark in there like in real world - big office buildings, street lights start to turn their lights on. On the streets there are cars which use breaking lights, turn signals and front lights (when it's dark). They follow to stop at the intersection lights, when they're red. I've shot short movies using my mobile phone and when I played it back on my computer it looks like real bird's eve view.
There is even small chocolate factory which produces small chocolates:-)
On the airport - which is little bit hidden, you can see starting and landing airplanes.
I recommend this place for adults and kids.
Only stuff at the entrance desk was not very friendly, because I ordered 2 tickets (for my wife and myself), but I was not aware that I should also get the ticket for my daughter (regardless if the ticket is for free, as she is 3.5 years). Lady at cash desk pointed this out with reproach when she realized that we come with kid - it was not so obvious, that I should have ticket, even if it costs 0EUR.
The other disadvantage is a little bit expensive entrance fee.

I visited here expecting to be amazed and I truly was! Loxx Miniatur Welten, situated in the Alexa centre on Alexanderplatz is a miniature version of Berlin including all the landmarks, moving cars, vans, trains and trams. Every last detail is included, including shops in the right places, hotels and street scenarios. There is a night and day simulator and weather simulator. The detail is just amazing, also includes some fantasy scenes such as Jurassic park, and little gingerbread houses. You could spend hours here with family and is a great option if you have children as this will keep them entertained for ages and will certainly love it. There is also an airport with very intensive detail, planes that take off and land and even DHL lorries and other things you would see at the airport. There is a discount with the welcome card and is very fairly priced. Couldn't recommend this attraction more. A great morning or afternoon out alone, with friends or family!

On the top floor of a large shopping centre the minature world is great fun for young and old alike. If you love model trains etc this is a must.

Entrance is about 12 Euro for adults and 7 Euro for children. (Berlin welcome card gives half price for children and a discount for adults). Its basically a giant model of Berlin with amazing detail. Trains and cars move around the city, and the lights dim at dusk. You hear the city rise with the birds and might hear a thunderstorm above this huge model railway and town. Loved the wee mineshaft with free chocolate for the children. The airport is great too, especially take off. Great way to spend an hour or so with the youngsters.

I had some spare time and had heard about this attraction so visited. It was easy to find - on top of a shopping centre. The entrance fee seemed a bit high to me.

The model world was of an impressive size with further expansion viable in the form of new areas. The models were very detailed and layed out in a very natural way. There was loads to see and lots of little hidden details. There is lots for children to see and occasional viewing areas at their height.

I would comment that when I visited, some of the models looked quite tired but there was evidence of repair with several spaces where models had clearly been removed. There are some buttons which presumably trigger additional features but these didn't seem to work during my visit.

They have built an incredible model airport which is worth a look.

Overall, a good visit especially for a family with children who like model railways.

If you enjoy the world of models you need to see Loxx when visiting Berlin. It's easy to find, not far from Alexanderplatz station. Admission is a bit pricey at €12.50 but you can get a discount with a Berlin Welcome Card which is in itself a good buy. Some of the detail of the model of Berlin is amazing though some of it is less good. Tne number and scale of trains and even trams running is excellent and it's probably the best model of it's kind that I've seen. The airport add on was rather disappointing but it's included in the ticket price so worth a look. One floor down in the Alexa Centre is an impressive foodcourt with enough choices to interest most people.
