“Funky hotel well positioned in central Berlin”

Great little hotel with funky decor and rooms. Ask for a room not facing the courtyard as we had office workers overlooking our room and we were glad when it was weekend and we could get dressed with the curtains open!!! The breakfast is very extensive and mostly organic - 18 euros per person did seem a little steep however and there are many more reasonably priced cafes just a stone throw away from the hotel. There is not refreshments tray in the room but there is water and snacks which were also pretty expensive.

Lively bar that stayed open until the small wee hours - techno music that was ok but tended to be a bit wearing after a bit. I am older though!!

Friendly, helpful staff and overall a great place to stay

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the courtyard where you are overlooked

The Weinmeister is a great hotel for a Berlin city break, it has a great location, close to nice cafes, bars and shop, also very close to Museum Insel. The subway station is 2 minutes away. The rooms are lovely, they have a nice design and the beds are great. The hotel has a very lovely roof terrace. We didn't try the breakfast, since it was a little on the expensive side (18 eur) and we preffered to go to one of the many lovely cafes nearby. There is wi-fi in the lobby and in the rooms and it works well.

Room Tip: There are rooms which have a transparent shower door situated right in front of the bed - so if you...

I loved this hotel. It is achingly cool, which would normally put me off, but the staff were bumbling enough to take the edge off it and it wasn't full of trendy types bobbing around to electro music as I feared it would be.

The rooms are lovely and make you feel like you are somewhere special. The beds need a good jump to get onto and are very comfortable and the layout and decor of the bathroom areas are tasteful and modern without being impractical.

It is located in a great spot with a lovely cafe and bar just a 2 minute walk away.

One thing to note though is that they only do double beds and the shower and bath are not very separate to the rest of the room so it isn't a place to share rooms unless you are happy to be intimate with each other.

Nice trendy hotel in top location, stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed this hotel a lot. Handy to most things like the tower was a 10 minute walk away and great cafes and bars just around the corner. Downside like most was the prices of drinks in the bar and a not so friendly barman who turned a bit sour when I never tipped him. I don't mind tipping a small amount if the service is good. Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The bed was great and free wifi was handy. All over a good hotel

We were surprised to find this hotel at such a good price, and were pretty sure that when we'd arrive something would be lacking to explain- we were wrong!
The Great-
- Room is great, spacious well lit cool (we were upgraded)
- Service- lovely! Caring and helpful
- Location Location Location!!!!

The Good-
- Location! (again)
- All the hotel services are good, wifi is fast (standard kind)
- The hotel is super clean and trendy

The OK, not issues but good to know before arriving-
- The privacy policy (not cleaning your room unless you ask for it), we didn't find an issue
- There are no closets/drawers. We came for six days, so it's nice to put away your things and make it feel like home, but it's really no big deal.
- The huge hotel room windows face a small square- so you can see everything that's going on, if you'll want privacy you'll have to shut the curtains which leaves the room quite dark.

Stayed at the weinmeister for one night this week for work. I've stayed at over a dozen hotels in Berlin so have a good idea of the scene now. The weinmeister is indeed very 'Berlin', graffitied door to the lobby, street art in the stairwell and cutting edge design in the lobby and rooms. But nothing about this hotel blew my socks off. The breakfast is 18€ and has the novelty of a waffle machine where you make your own - likewise for the fresh orange juice, but there was zero fresh fruit! I appreciated the full size toiletries in the rooms - quite trendy now, but much better for the environment. My room was bright and had a nice view. On the 6th floor there is a cute and cosy terrace where I enjoyed a drink. The lobby is super trendy but the oversized furniture doesn't make for much of a vibrant atmosphere - the furniture obstructs your view of the other guests. The rooms have iMacs instead of TVs - took me a few minutes to get used to using the Apple TV remote for half the functions and the mouse for the other half (and I work in tech). I was a bit disappoint to see 100+ TV/radio channels available, but nothing in English - I need my bbc world when I'm away! I watched a few bits on YouTube but the connection meant the streaming stopped regularly. Finally, I'm a bit skeptical about the 'opt-in' cleaning policy - by the looks of it, most people on my floor either opted out or probably forgot to put out the sign saying 'please clean my room'. Other than that it's a trendy, clean, friendly hotel but there is nothing outstanding that would make me rush back.

Great location, very hip hotel, such friendly staff.
We stayed at the 4th floor, it was very quiet, the bed was amazingly comfortable, the toiletries were awesome and fullsize, we also loved the mac and the iPod/Iphone station. Very clean, simple, and quite unique.
A major plus: Everyday/night the lobby/cafe has the most amazing music I've heard in a hotel, really gets you pumped for the day when you leave the hotel to explore :D

Overall, a great experience, will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The larger rooms with bath tub are very interesting and much more spacious.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Weinmeister, sits in the heart of Berlin-Mitte and embodies its chic, contemporary attitude. “The Golden Cage”, as it is affectionately called due to its matte golden metal façade, is visible from every vantage point in the neighbourhood, alluringly drawing in guests and visitors alike. Conceived as the “big brother” of the well established Lux 11, also located in Mitte, The Weinmeister is aimed at business travelers from the film, music, fashion and other creative fields, as well as leisure travelers. Its core philosophy is simple: it focuses on rest, comfort, round-the-clock service and stylish rooms that highlight one piece of furniture - an oversized bed, which acts as a room within a room and suggests “cocooning.” Despite the convenience and excitement that the location affords, guests are very likely to give in to the temptation of staying in their endlessly comfortable rooms or in the luxurious hotel bar at the end of a busy day in the German capital. ... more   less
