for budget traveller. Ok, this a hostel with many people to a room but as it is terribly difficult to find a room in Berlin, you will be glad with this place. Totally well located near the East Side Gallery and S Bahn U Bahn and the Ostbahnhof. Can't ask for more.

Room Tip: Excellent place for budget traveller. There are some single rooms if I remember correctly but that w...

This hostel has a great location by Warschauer Straße which is close to almost everything in a trendy area of town. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are very accommodating! We had a really bad night with one of our room-mates (who woke us up twice, swore at us, told us to die and threw things at us) but the staff changed our room without a question and even upgraded us for the night. They staff were helpful too. I would definitely recommend this hostel. It was a very well priced too!

We booked an 8 seater room - it was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The Wifi helped us plan our itinary. The 5 Euro breakfast is awesome and sets you up for a long day ahead. You can meet some great people at the discs and cafes nearby. You can buy cheap liquor from the shops next door, rent bikes and visit the hip restaurant district of East Berlin. Right behind the hostel is the East Berlin Wall Art Gallery - An open air graffiti art gallery from artists around the world. Nice place to bike around and soak in the alternative culture of Berlin.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road can be avoided - the morning rush hour can disturb sleep.

Stayed here with my two children to see a concert at the O2 Arena. Not only is it ideally placed for the arena it is very handy for getting to the sbahn and ubahn stations to travel elsewhere in Berlin. Just across the bridge is a great street with lots of different restaurants and of course, you are just around the corner from the East Side Gallery along the river.
As for the hotel itself, the rooms were comfortable and spotless and also very quiet ( we had a room at the back overlooking the O2). In the morning there was a little bit of noise from people going down the stairs to start the day, but nothing major. We also had our own bathroom which again was spotlessly clean.
The breakfast in the morning was great value, cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs, delicious fresh breadrolls, fruit, cereals etc. all for €5 - a bargain.
I would stay here again even if not attending an event at the venue as we had such a great time and felt very safe.

Room Tip: Rooms at eh back may be quieter (depending on whether there is an event happening at the O2).

This hostel is very clean, staff is super friendly, the lounge is cosy (+ free wifi), breakfast is cheap and very tasty, rooms and beds are super (shower in the room). I would recommand this hostel to everyone that is planning to stay in Berlin!

Upon entering I was a little concerned as the lobby did not look as clean and modern as it did in the pictures on hostelworld.com. They definitely had a great photographer. After going back and looking at the pictures one can see that the photographer used a projector to create a cool design on the walls which doesn't exist. At any rate, the room was clean and the location was great. The staff is really nice and helpful, and they even held our luggage after checkout as we weren't flying out until much later in the afternoon. However, if you want extra towels they charge you.

As far as the area goes I'd say it is more appropriate for a younger crowd. It's literally a half block walk from the East Side Gallery of the Berlin Wall which was great. Otherwise, I wasn't too impressed with the location. It's right around the corner from Raw Tempel which is a cool space that appears to be an abandoned graffiti covered factory during the day, but turns into a maze of clubs in the evening. Had my friend and I been in our mid 20's and not mid 30's this would have been a cool space to hang out at night, but it was much too young for our taste now. I did get to catch this awesome band playing inside a tunnel near the U-bahn and the National did a secret show at the Michelberger hotel next to us on our first night there which was pretty rad. I thought there would be better shopping being in such a "hip" area, but there really weren't any good stores. If you want to shop head to Mauerpark on Sunday for the flea market. Found some good stuff there. There is also better shopping and cute cafes up that way.
