“Coolest place in Berlin”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Soho House, Berlin is another in the series (chain is far too mundane a word for this group) of Soho House hotels and clubs (including Dean Street Townhouse in Soho, London) and has the same characteristics of being achingly cool, super stylish, distinctive but really comfortable too.

Stayed in a Large room - and it was! To give a sense of scale, the 7' square bed (comfortable, fine, soft linen and the lightest duvet) was dwarfed by the room - two huge sofas, armchair, dining table and chairs and other antique or special-piece furniture did not make it feel cluttered: it was a real walk from one side of the room to another. I've lived in whole apartments that are smaller than room 30. Plenty of tech too.

Great bathroom with a sliding partition so that it was part of the room or separate according to taste (surprisingly special having a bath in the bedroom), separate steam shower and, as always, the house's lovely Cowshed toiletries. The only thing that would have been nice and was not there would have been cords on the curtains - 6 floor to ceiling (over 12') windows meant that the curtains used enough fabric for Christo to wrap a building in and they were quite tricky to draw properly to keep out the light.

Soho house operates as Cool Central for Berlin so the club bars and lounges are fantastic places for people watching - if you like watching truly beautiful people, that is. They are, as in other Soho House premises comfortable and well-designed with a variety of furniture and arrangements so that you can have a relaxed drink or eat a meal comfortably with enough space for a private conversation. The staff are friendly and the style is relaxed but not causal - very efficient and careful.

The spa offers great massages and the hammam (no charge) is a treat at the end of a long day visiting Berlin.

The free wi-fi everywhere also works well and careful consideration has been given to security for hotel guests - given that the facilities are also used by club members.

The location is a little way from the main tourist areas but no more than a short walk and the overall experience justifies it thoroughly. Loved it!

Room Tip: Room 30 is enormous!

Soho House Berlin has been one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Our room was small, but perfectly decorated; impeccably distributed space, lovely bathroom, out of this world power shower and divine products from Cowshed. Bathroom kit included generous sized toothpaste, mouthwash, antiperspirant etc. It is the perfect hotel for a couple, and an even more perfect hotel for women... it just feels like home. The beds are perfectly firm, but not too much. Pillows are down and of perfect size, the sheets lovely.

My only gripe was that the service in the pool area was lacking; they had very few staff on the roof top on a sunny bank holiday weekend when it was obvious that the entire hotel wanted to hang out there. Also, the bathrooms were romantically lit, but were not practical for doing one's makeup. Despite this, I give it 5 stars as everything else more than makes up for the few details amiss.

I stayed in a one bedroom apartment for three nights. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The public spaces in the hotel are comfortable and welcoming.
All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful.
I would not even consider another hotel.
Not a good choice for traveling with children.

it is clearly a different hotel than what one would find in Berlin. Unique history, great decoration, some funny rules (no tie, no cell in the bar, ...), great and large rooms. Different vibe in the Bar as you have Berlin's BoBo, creative guys, the young & beautiful. Clearly changing the spin from other hotel. Some improvements could be made in terms of service, but I like it like that. Room price are clearly trading above other Berlin hotel (but worth it), while Bar & restaurant prices are OK.
Amazing rooftop bar and swimming pool - with a very nice view on East Berlin.

It's what you'd expect from Soho House - and then some.

I travelled with a friend, and we had separate rooms. My friend stayed in one of the larger (amazing) rooms with a freestanding bath and huge bathroom and I stayed in one of the smaller rooms. Both rooms were brilliant! So much fun. The bar area is off the hook. The breakfast table was beautiful in both the restaurant and the rooftop. The dining room was magnificent for dinner. And they make an incredible martini.

I had a brilliant massage in the Cowshed Spa, and the steam room / turkish spa room has to be seen to be believed!

The staff at check in were so helpful, and suggested we 'stay in' for the night as a huge soccer match was happening and Germany weren't expected to win! Suffice to say we're glad we did. The bar is beautiful.

An unforgettable weekend. Plan to stay a couple of days and you won't want to leave the hotel.

Room Tip: Try the small rooms. They're great value, and some are quite high in the back of the hotel with...

The legendary Soho House opened about two years ago a house in Berlin in an absolutely stunning location. Whether you're a Soho House member or not, booking a room there is definitely highly recommended.

It's currently THE place to be in Berlin where the cool kids hang out. People tend to hang out the whole day at the lovely roof deck of Soho House, have a dip in the pool and have fun with the people there. You'll only get in if you are a Soho House member or if stay in their hotels room Don't miss it. It's gorgeous.

Disadvantage: The food quality is not good except for standards like burgers.

What more can I say? We spent 3 nights here, Thursday to Sunday. For us, it was perfect. The "Small" room was so large I thought we'd been upgraded. Enormous rain head shower, walk-in wardrobe, the largest bed I've ever slept in, two armchairs, and an eclectic storage unit incorporating the modern (TV, blu-ray, iPod dock) and the retro (a 1950s record player and selection of vinyl). The attention to detail in this place is incredible. It was also impeccably clean and the service was top-notch. The attached members club was a real home-from-home and we spent far more time in the hotel than I expected. I'd feared it might be a bit pretentious, but actually it was really laid back. The rooms are fairly pricey (we were on a fantastic deal though, which negated this) but the food and drink is reasonably priced and of a very high standard. Soho House turned our weekend in Berlin into something truly special, I can't wait to come back here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Room Tip: Our 'small' room on the 5th floor was really quiet, no noise from the club at all. Unless y...
