Truth be told, I ended up at this somewhat generic hotel only because I couldn't get myself booked at the Hotel Otto in Charlottenburg after coming back from Copenhagen. And honestly, that was OK since the livelier Schoneberg is probably my speed more than the quieter Charlottenburg. The hotel itself has a slightly dated feel that looks to appeal to budget family travelers since they appear to huddle a lot in the sterile lobby. At 114 Euros per night, my room was comfortable enough, just bland with an anachronistic photo of the Golden Gate Bridge above the headboard. Maybe they knew it would make me feel more at home (see photo). Probably not.

Hallway lights are activated by motion...sometimes. You may be stumbling in the dark before finding your room. My other complaint is that their WiFi only works in the lobby and not in the room, so basically, you'll be hanging with those families in the lobby if you need to confirm flights or figure out where to eat in the neighborhood. Fortunately, Wittenbergplatz is only a couple of blocks away, so you can find plenty of dining options nearby or take the U-Bahn to get elsewhere in the city. Service at the front desk is efficient but not particularly informative if you have detailed questions about the city. If you're about location, location, location, consider this a viable option. If amenities are important, keep working your way down the TripAdvisor list for Berlin accommodations.

Very good hotel to stay in Berlin: very well positioned with 5 minutes to walk to U-Bahn station, 5 minutes to Ka-De-We wonderful department store and shopping street, large and clean rooms, free wi-fi in the room, very good breakfast and good service.
There was also an agreement made by the hotel with a taxi line having different types of cars with fare prices to the airport (a simple taxi for 2 costed us 17 Euro to Tegel airport).
One small inconvenient was the low phonic isolation of a large locked door between our room and the next one, making us hearing all the discussions of our neighbors.
However overall it is one of the best 4 stars hotel offer you will find these days in Europe.

we have just returned from a visit to Berlin and a 4 night stay at the Ivbergs premium hotel. It is in a great location right between the 2 U-Bahn station of Wittenberg and Nollendorf Platz. Wittenberg platz is right near Ka De We department store and the main shopping street, whilst the other u-bahn station has a good selection of restaurants - we only discovered on our last night. - seems to be lots of good thai restaurants but basically there was a wide range of cuisines.
The rooms were of a good size and the beds really comfortable. Some people have said they didn't like the bathrooms but for me and my husband it was a good set up. Shower (which did have a glass door on one side, a sink area with hairdryer and then a toilet - just made getting ready in the mornings a lot easier.
The breakfast was one of the best I have had - a huge range of food - fruit, breads, pastries, cooked meats, cheese, cereals, eggs, sausage, bacon fresh juices and coffee and was all help yourself.
The staff were really helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. It was our wedding anniversary whilst in the city and they left us a bottle of sparkling wine and a note which was a nice touch.
They had a little gift cabinet where you could buy gifts - many were a lot cheaper than in the tourist shops - they even had bits of Berlin Wall!
The only negative thing i would say is that there isn't really a bar as such. The restaurant next door provided room service and a bar but to be honest we didn't bother going in - it really lacked any kind of atmosphere and hardly ever had anybody in it!
There are plenty of other bars in the area - if you are looking for late night drinks i would recommend the area near to the Nollendorf Platz area (around Winterfeld Platz) as these seemed to open later.
All in all i would stay again - Berlin is such a big place you have to travel around and this hotel is in an excellent location.

Room Tip: I would ask for a no smoking room.

This hotel is in a good position with good transport links. The rooms are modern, clean, quite large and well equipped although would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast which was part of the package was very good with lots of variety and well serviced by the staff. I would definitely stay at this hotel again

8 of us had a three night break superb hotel.
lovely rooms.

down falls and there were a few.
we had to go the smoking room as they felt we were noisy (we are not teenagers 48+)
no coffee/tea in the rooms
the bar closed early

doubt if i would go back but if you have booked no fear it is a good hotel, germans are just generally stern

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back lovely and quiet
