“Interesting, worth an hour”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

This is a modest museum, and having seen Egyptian stuff elsewhere, I wondered why I was there! But its well put together -- Egyptian on one side, other history on the other side. Not an overwhelming size, which I likes. I hate that feeling of "museum exhaustion" from the big places. Nefertiti was indeed cool, as was their famous Gold Hat. Worth an hour and 12 euro.

Note: You are REQUIRED, in fine German fashion, to surrender your coat and any backpack, at the coat check.

“First class, don't miss”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

Don't go for the Nefertiti, go if you love antic art and Egyptian art in particular. A world class collection, beautifully set and lit in a first rate museum which has been at last very tastefully reconstructed. An added benefit - It is just the right size. Big enough to spend hours but not so big as to make you numb with quantity and exhaustion.

“Awesome”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

If there is one museum to visit, this has to be one of them. The museums are all awesome, for different and combined points of interests. This museum is the new museum. Interests include the Nefertiti from Egypt, Xanten Youth from Italy, and the golden hat from South Germany.
