The museum deals with old things, not new ones. The "neues" just refers to the more recent construction of the building (spectacular, by the way) than the "altes". The contents are: Egyptian and other Mediterranian antiquities, some of them key items in world history. The Akhenaton and Nefertiti displays are such. However, some parts of the museum - the sacrophagi - are somewhat messy and do not communicate well. Also, pictures are not allowed inside the most important rooms on the first floor. Anyway, the museum comes strongly recommended!
