“Great location without being touristy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

walking distance to underground public and above ground transportation that will take you everywhere. Best of all, located in the heart of a vibrant neighborhood not yet dominated by tourists but has many great restaurants and shopping. I like the hotel room (especially the hardwood floor) though others may not think well of the modern style shower that tends to flood the bathroom floor. Absolutely love the help yourself snack bar on the 7th floor. Wonderful to come back late in the night and grab a soft drink or a snack, all complimentary. Great breakfast too! Will definitely be back. Do be careful taking a taxi from the Tegel Airport. We got ripped off with a charge of 50 Euros when it should have only been 20 to 25 Euros.

The hotel is located in a very nice area with shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Hackesche Höfe, Weinmeisterstr and Torstrasse is 5 mins away. Hotel is simple but spotless clean and shower is good. Lounge on 7th floor is great for snacks, breakfast and drinks. Alcoholic drinks were a bit pricey though considering it is self service. Internet was super slow but free anyway not good. Sauna in the basement were good with some gym equipment and small lounge.

Room price is not cheap compared to other alternatives. We also stayed at Soho House which is a better choice with the rooftop pool, spa and gym.

Room Tip: Better view if you get higher up

Casa Camper Berlin offers a refreshing change from the usual corporate minded hotel and demonstrates some real thought in terms of design. Attention has been paid to maximizing coziness but cool at the same time. The room was well designed with nice fixtures and amenities with an atypical layout (for example the bathroom has the window over the sink so you look out as you are there; a line of hooks along the wall to hang things and keep them off the floor = less clutter). The reception desk was friendly but slightly disappointed with the ability to give more than basic advice for things to do nearby. The lounge at the top is a brilliant idea - food and drink whenever, a private lobby of sorts, encourages hanging out. And location is tops! A bit expensive for what it is, especially in Berlin where hotel prices are still fairly moderate.

In the new hip part of town ... We just loved casa camper.
Great service. Comfortable beds. Relaxing rain shower. Small rooms, but well layed out.
Breakfast was delicious.
Neighborhood is up and coming and great to explore.

This small hotel is big on service and amenities. The rooms are up to date modern with quirky electronic privacy window controls. Night time turn down service include slippers placed by the bed. Big bath robes are also provided as is bottled water. No need for mini-fridges as there is self-service food available 24/7. Convenient to bus and local train transportation. Definitely recommend.

the other reviewers have captured both the essence and the specific details of what makes this such an exceptional hotel for tourists. the availability of the many reviews and the details included in them take so much of the uncertainty out of traveling. this is not the Adlon. or a Four Seasons. and there is no coat and tie required. but if you are a traveler lacking unlimited resources, this hotel is exceptionally well conceived and executed in away that make your stay comfortable and convenient. it is a real oasis for serious and hard core travelers.

Casa Camper is a great place to stay - central location, simple, comfortable decor, excellent rain shower (I miss it already!) and all the amenities that you need including free wifi. You get a little 'information pack' with your room card, which gives you a few handy tips about getting to and from nearby places. There's also a map on the wall of each room. Good toiletries (including conditioner!) are provided (NB: you're actively encouraged not to pack them away when you leave, but they do offer them to purchase. Great hairdryer and funky silicone Camper slippers, which are also available to purchase. Complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks (alcoholic drinks are chargeable) are available in the top floor restaurant all day. Breakfast in this hotel is a lovely experience as you have a nice unobstructed view over Berlin as you tuck into the made-to-order food. Food-wise, there's lots of choice including hot food like scrambled eggs/omelette etc and/or continental options (croissants, cheeses, hams, cakes, yogurts, fruit etc).
