The hotel was very nicely located and overall was a good value. We purchased a package and wanted to extend it one day, they did so at a great rate and allowed us to keep the family room instead of the triple we booked.

Only problem we had was that the hotel did not 'remember' any of the 'package' we bought. We had to ask for all the items that came with our package (other hotels often have them ready upon arrival). We were supposed to get tours or the city, city passes, free internet, welcome drinks, etc. We had to ask for each item and they did not believe us until they checked their reservation to see adn realized it was part of our package. They even tried to charge us for breakfast which was included as well. Overall, they were generally pleasant and sometimes helpful, but could not make any dinner recommendations in the area.

Best part of the hotel was the size of the room (big), it was quiet, well situated in Berlin and a good deal. Despite all the hassle with the front desk staff, we would stay there again.

A top choice hotel, brand new (1,5 years old), very clean, great position, value 9/10.

Location: The location is excellent, just of Kurfurstendamm, easy access to public transport - Uhlandstraße underground station and Bus Station 109 to Tegel Airport = 5 min walk.

Room: Spanish design, modern and spacious room. Big and very comfortable bed. Toillet could be bigger (R.628). Warm.

Food: Good breakfast (excelent croissants). Room service is quick and food was tasty and well presented.

Staff: Serviceminded, always helpful and friendly staff. Check-In was quick and efficient.
Un saludo para Manolo.

Improvement: Wifi should be free.

The hotel room was very good. I liked the wooden froors (so much cleaner than carpeting) and the fact that the windows opened even on the 7th floor. One night we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant: the service was very slow and my pasta was so undercooked that I had to send it back to the kitchen.
The worst part was that I had to pay 38 euros for using the wifi facilities of the hotel for the 4 days of my stay. It didn't occur to me to ask as all hotels I have been to in the last 3 years offer free wifi!

This hotel is a good value if you're booking for under 100 euros and want a clean, quiet and new hotel in Berlin. It would be a great value if it included the freebies that are fast becoming standard like wifi, but the free newspapers in the lobby make up for it - English papers are present in addition to the German dailies.

Per the uploaded photos, the room looks great. Toiletries in the washroom are fantastic, as the Travelling Companion indicated, and the washroom is decently sized.

Regarding location, it's in an area around several hotels - it's a 5 to 15 minute walk down from Savignyplatz S-bahn (depending on your luggage and walking speed), and a half the distance if you are going to instead start your adventures from the terminus of the U1 line; not in the thick of action, but in a neighbourhood that felt very safe. And the room in the back of the hotel was wonderfully quiet. We noticed our neighbour checked in with a dog, but either it was well-behaved or the sound-proofing was good as we didn't hear a thing.

Only major downsides are the surcharge for wifi (use the internet cafe across the street instead, plus side is that the hotel staff suggested the same thing!), and the breakfast was overpriced (in my opinion, a "regular" hotel charging 10 euros for breakfast is charging far too much).

Those downsides didn't cloud the visit though - it was a place where we got great sleep, managed to store luggage for the last day running around Berlin and it contributed to a fantastic 2-night visit in Berlin.

I do not normally complain, would rather commend but feel I have to have my say.
Stopped at ABBA hotel for 4 nights one double one twin. Double ready on arrival twin not which was ok. Came back later room given was another double. Told to part the beds myself. They would not, so receptionist came back up to the room with scissors. Was unable to part bed not sure what they hoped to achieve with scissors. Never once saw reception staff smile the entire stay, nor the waiter staff at breakfast.
The rooms are small and the bathroom minute. Do not expect to lay out in the bath you have no chance. Bits on the wooden floor for the 4 days and bathroom not cleaned properly. Beds are comfortable but if you have someone above you who wears heels they may as well be in your room

Rooms are very hot and at this time of year air con turned off, beware you cannot open the windows due to traffic noise. I know its in a city but the rooms are far to hot to not have the windows open, so 4 nights of disturbed sleep.
After reading previous reviews was expecting a really good hotel, we are used to 4 Star hotels, sorry this is not 4 star I would say it compares to IBIS standards at 4 star prices

Also note the hotel is not central compared to other 4 star hotels in Berlin of the same price and quality. I will definitely return to Berlin what a fantastic city, but not to the ABBA hotel

It's a new cozy hotel with very friendly staff! We had a normal extra bed for our 13 yo doughter and not a cot as in other hotels. Hotel is centrally located and there is a supermarket close to it. The room has parquet flooring - warm, nice and comfortable. Good breakfast. Air conditioning system works great.
The only drawback - no coffee making facilities in room, so if you want tea or coffee at night, you need to go out... and if it's cold outside? And internet.. it should be free in 2010!
