A great basic hotel from which to explore Berlin. A hearty breakfast each morning set us up for 3 days of exploring. The room was warm and clean with a fabulous view over East Berlin from the top floor. I prefer a bath and there was only a shower, but for a short break it was no problem. A bit of an eccentric layout, with a walk through to the Holiday Inn lobby to reach the breakfast room, but it only took a couple of minutes. There was a Dr Oetker pizza vending machine on the ground floor which was an oddity. Berlin was cold and snowy, but the Xmas markets were colourful and the trams frequent. We enjoyed the city bus tour so much we took it on two consecutive days - it takes around 3 hours and you can hop on and off at all the interesting places - Brandenberg Gate, Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie etc., Do also visit the DDR Museum - fascinating and interactive. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is clean, comfortable and warm, which is what you need in wintery Berlin!

Breakfast is good and plentiful, and the staff are very very helpful and friendly and speak perfect English.

The staff are also happy to help out with directions and you can also but tram tickets from reception.

The only let down I'd say is the location. It isn't central, but then again not much is in Berlin as the city isn't very dense and is quite spread out. You do forget this however as the public transport in Berlin is cheap, reliable and comprehensive.

Just got back from a 3 day break from this hotel and for what we paid for it couldn't complain.Room was huge and spotless, bathroom was the same. The only grumble that I had was that there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room and we had to go next door to the holiday inn for breakfast, not a real problem as it is adjoining.Nothing to do in this area on an evening as it is quite far out but is easy access to the bustling christmas markets by tram.Take the M5 or M6 and your soon in the middle of it all by getting off at Alexanderplatz.Buy one of the travel passes at the airport it cost us 26 euros each but is well worth it as this enables you to travel on buses trams and trains. From Schonfeld airport take the S9 train to landersberg allee then M5/M6 and get off at Langhansstraffe.Walk up to the intersection and the hotel is on the right by the renault garage. For all you smokers this hotel does have smoking rooms much to my hubbys delight.Make sure you take warm clothing cos we had plenty of snow and temperatures were sitting at a very cold -7 with out the wind chill factor

We booked this hotel for a four night city break on a budget. After reading previous reviews I was well prepared to get what we paid for however our experience was far better than expected. We flew into Schönefeld at 21:00 Sunday evening and the journey to the hotel by underground and tram took just under an hour. The hotel is a 2 minue walk from the tram stop. Check in was polite and efficient. Our room was maybe a bit on the dated side but had clearly been partially revamped and the bathroom was fairly new. The room was spacious and airey and the bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast in the hotel on the first day which was very nice and good value for money. Tram lines run east/west and north/south from right outside the hotel. Alesanderplatz is only 15-20 mins on the tram and from there you can access the whole city via S-Bahn and U-Bahn.

Our overall experience of the hotel in comparison to the price we paid was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend.

SIT REP .l shared a Berlin break with some friends in these tower blocks and for the dosh we paid l would give the place mega thumbs up.service was 5* ,desk girls in reception were gorgeousness darlings .GET a welcome pass for trams etc best value for getting about.christmas markets nearly all the same with charlottenburg best. oh! hotel breakfast smoked salmon on scrambled egg on toast yummy. go north to Bernauer Str,and wonder about to find out of the way fab restaurants east of old wall. The cold war stuff is fascinating but the ss and gestapo reich securty main office on Wilhelm-and Priz-Albrecht strabe, is step back and reminder of a cruel world. So now go and get some gluvin and have a play on them trains . -7C Dont forget your wooly socks ,have fun trippers.

Yes, it is indeed around a 15-minute tram ride to Alexanderplatz, and yes, they do have the gall to charge for WiFi in this day and age, but the rooms are large and pleasant, the breakfast borders on the marvellous (best scrambled eggs I've ever had in such circumstances!), and there's a nice supermarket (Galant, I believe) a short walk (toward the tram stop) away. I should mention also that the housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient.

For a short break this hotel is excellent value for money. We stayed in House 3 which had been recently refurbished: the room was large, clean, modern and quiet. Yes this hotel is linked with the Holiday Inn but the short inside walk to the breakfast room was no problem and the breakfast was good. A reasonable choice of hot and cold buffet and pleasant staff.
The hotel is a bit of a distance from the city but the transport system is so efficient that we never waited more that five minutes for the tram which stopped a 5 minute walk away from the hotel.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a short break in Berlin, especially if, like us, you can get a good price.
