Description: Welcome to "YOSOY" the Spanish Tapas-Bar in Berlin Mitte. Tapas strongly belong to the daily life in Spain and contain all the small appetizing cold and warm spanish food from which we are offering a choice. The origin of Tapas lies in Andalusia and is closely connected with a GLASS of sherry or wine. One says that the piece of bread, the slice of ham or the cheese which was put as a "lid" on the sherry or wineglass, was put around to retain the strange aroma in the GLASS, that's the origin of the Tapa-culture in Spain. In addition, the pleasure and the way of life came naturally to lean against a bar and to talk to friends, strangers, the family or the landlord of this and that having a small lunch and a glass of sherry or wine and lose the whole time of the day. Hopefully, we have created such a comfortable place with our Tapas-Bar.

Excellent Tapas bar near Hackescher Hofe. Food is an excellent selection of hot and cold tapas. It is always busy, with seats at bar and standard tables. Wine list is good. Service and atmosphere excellent

“Like Ubliani said!”

Went here on the 29th Dec after a concert at Berlin Cathedral. We turned up about 10pm and the place was very busy but we got seated by the bar within 5 mins. The atmosphere was buzzing.Nice mix of young and old but probably not a place for kids.Good for couples and groups.Sadly, my Spanish is poor and German non existent but the staff couldn't have been more helpful.Get yourself a beer or the house wine and then dip into the tapas dishes which are numerous. At times we felt we could have been in Barcelona! Not only is Yosoy a great atmospheric place but what astonishing value we found it. Wouldn't it be easy to be had over with a large bill at the end of the evening. Well, that certainly never happened here.I had three large beers and the wife and 3 large red house wines.7 plates of tapas followed and the bill was about 38 euro. What a great time we had.So good we went back the next night for my birthday! Contrast that with our experience at nearby Thai Inside which is up the top of the Tripadvisor ratings and for which I have submitted a report. The two establishments should swap places in the ratings.Credit to staff and management at Yosoy.Keep it up.

“Fantastic value, wonderful atmosphere and great food”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

The staff was fantastic. I speak very little German and my Spanish is non-existent. When our server saw me struggling with the menu, she quickly presented an English version. While it was busy which meant it was a touch on the slow side to get service and for the food to arrive, the staff came round at just the right intervals to keep our drinks topped up.

The lighting is great for an intimate dinner with friends or a date. It's not a quiet place so if you are looking for a quiet romantic venue this isn't it. There place was full and almost boisterous, but I like that kind of "happening" atmosphere.

Coming from Vancouver, BC I am used to a tapas meal for four people (including one bottle of wine) costing over $200CDN. Our party was 2 couples and we had a bottle of house red wine, 13 tapas plates and the bill was 80€!

The quality of food was good. We had a selection of traditional dishes that were served hot and at the same time.

I am heading back to Berlin in a few months and will definitely go back!

“Very good tapas outside Spain”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

This tapas bar is one of the best I have visited outside Spain. The staff origin from Spain and does everything to make you feel like you are in Spain. You can chose to sit either in the front facing the street or in the back of the restaurant.
They have a big variety of tapas on the menu. Both hot and cold. There are also typical spanish dishes like paella and rabbit.
The waiters are taking good care of you and make you feel very welcome.
It is a good idea to make a reservation as this place is very popular. Many Spanish expats are coming here to eat and meet.
Prices are very reasonable.

“If you like tapas you will love it here!”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

Traditional tapas restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and great mood lighting/music for a lovely meal out. Aside from the typical tapa there was a fantastic specials menu, we had Ox Cheeks which melted in your mouth. The service can take a while at busy times but the food is without a doubt all cooked fresh.
