Description: What's fascinating at Alberts is the eclectic mix of people that changes throughout the day. Early morning is the time for singletons and friends to get together over breakfast, at noon it's time for business lunches, tourists take time out to relax there in the afternoon and by the evening, it's open-house when the young and the young at heart all descend! The grill is an impressive feature, as you can watch the Chef over your shoulder! There's a choice of fish, meat and vegetables, plus home-made bread and a reasonably priced daily menu from 11am to 3pm. Breakfast is served from 9am and throughout the day, definitely a plus for late-risers. Brunch is served from 10am - 4pm on Sundays and public holidays and also at a discount rate from 3pm for late risers. As a special treat for children, they can prepare their own scrambled egg! There's also free WLAN access for guests.

Although a little bit off the tourist trail Albert's turned out to be a little hidden gem. Tuesday night is make your own burger where you can combine a number of ingredients to your own preferences. Having 3 teenage boys, this proved very popular. 5 of us ate and had 2 drinks each for under 60 euros.

We went here to have the brunch which wasn't actually cheap at 12,50 Euros per person (not including drinks) but it looked nice and we had read some good reviews so we gave it a try. The location was a bit off the track (at least if you are a tourist in Berlin) so it took us a bit to find it. They had a really good selection of cheese and starters and everything else you could want so we stayed there for quite a while eating our way through the buffet ;) The only thing was that we sat in the bright sun because there were not enough sun umbrellas and it got REALLY hot after a while.
