“Simple and reasonably priced food”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We are not aficionados of Creole food so cannot judge the authenticity of the meal we ate but the food was ok and affordable. Nothing super special but we had a nice meal.

“Wouldnt send a friend...”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Dont come here unless you dont mind having your lunch for dinner. Having to wait an hour and twenty minutes for a very average burger at 10:30pm when there are only three other tables are taken in the whole place is not an experience I care to repeat.
Its not a ploy to make you keep ordering drinks either. No one came to ask if we wanted another round let alone offer a free one for the excessive wait.

The place looks good from the outside, but it will guaranteed to sap your enthusiasm.

“Best. Burgers”
Reviewed April 26, 2012

I went there for the first time in july 2011 because I was staying at the Wombats Hostel right next to it. I went back again just now, in april 2012 and my biggest craving was their burgers. They are delicious and very filling! I also tried a couple of appetizers, and I was not disappointed by anything. The atmostphere is really cosy too, very "Louisiana" style. Great food, great service and perfect location! Definitely worth it!

“You get what you pay for”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

Good quality food, good value. The place can be a little bit crowded at peak times but if you're after a good, cheap bite then the Louisiana Kid is a good shout. Try the shrimp soup starter and the jambalaya main - delicious!

“The best restaurant in Berlin Mitte”
Reviewed January 5, 2012

We stumbled across the Lousiana Kid, and what a great find it was. We were seated very quickly in this relaxing and unpretentious restaurant, offered the menus and 'could they get us a drink', very quickly. Brilliant start we thought, we ordered the house red, and a nice big litre bottle arrived!!! We chose simple garlic bread to start, when it arrived we thought well it just looks like basic garlic bread but it came with this little dish of sauce, that we never found out what it was but it was lovely. It was cold but had a fiery spicyness to it. Went really well with the bread, we ate it all up.

I ordered chicken and chorizo jambalaya, it was the most gorgeous meal i had tasted for a long long time in a restaurant. I was getting so sick of going out for meals where we live and paying over the odds for poor food that we had practically given up going for meals. My partner ordered a breast of chicken with a chilli sauce on top on a base of creamy pasta. In his own words, 'it was the best meal he has ever tasted in his life in a restaurant'. He never says these words, but i could see by his face, and the fact their was silence as he devoured the dish that he was absolutley loving the taste of his food. We were both so pleased with our main courses. When we go back to Berlin, which we normally do once a year, we will be going back to eat here again. Service was brilliant, not over the top, the meal was great value for money.
Thanks for our lovely delicious meal Louisiana Kid!!!
