Our group had lunch at Xxenia prior to checking in at the Pullman hotel in which it is located. I must say the food we had was of superb quality and a fine first meal in Germany's capital city.
I think Xxenia can either be an excellent business meal restaurant as I saw plenty of suits there having a good talk or a casual fine dining place a bit removed from the busy city center. The location is actually pretty good, being opposite the zoo and on Budapesterstrasse which is not that busy throughout the day. The restaurant itself is unremarkable in size and decoration, and gives you more of a functional/efficient feel than a striking ambience.
The food we had was outstanding, with absolutely beautiful presentation. We had delicious soups and salads. Our fish and meat dishes were cooked to perfection. They used good-quality ingredients. The portions are not great, but then this is the kind of place you go for a nice meal and conversation rather than to be filled to the brim.
The service was fine and efficient enough. However, it filled up very quickly at lunch, so go early.
