“Good communication around city”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Located just outside of the area with limited car traffic at the eastern part of town. Hotel is located close to tram and city rail transportation. This is very large hotel, rooms are rough (modern style), but the aesthetic and clean. Bathroom is with shower and bath (lot of glass). The big advantage is very varied and good breakfast (included in price). I would recommend for sightseeing.

Good location, opposite to U-Bahn and MetroBus station. Nice and clean rooms, very comfortable bathrooms. Kettle, tea, coffee, fridge, dvd player in a standard equipment. You can also relax in SPA section (but you have to pay for it extra). Free Wi-Fi available for guests. Underground spacious parking. And - what I recommend especially - VERY GOOD breakfast! Very good price-quality relationship. I really enjoyed the stay in Adel’s Hotel.

The hotel had made a mess of our booking putting us in the wrong class of room (didn't mention this at check in) then only had smoking rooms in the correct type. They rectified this by putting us in a Junior Suite which was on a high floor with good views. Typical Andel's with minimalist rooms and clean lines. Breakfast had a good variety of cuisines but it was very crowded.

Staff were pleasant, particularly the (Geordie) concierge who did his job very well. Thank you.

Not in the centre of Berlin so a tram is needed to find a variety of eating places.

Secure parking was a bonus.

I stayed at Andel's while I had a four day visit to Berlin. Pluses: The hotel is clean, spacious, modernly decorated, has an excellent breakfast, close to transit and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Minuses: For me it was a little too far away from the action (it was in a largely residential area) and the hotel was very large (over 500 rooms I believe). That being said it was very easily accessible to transit via the S-Bahn and the Tram. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, breakfast and customer service.

We stayed at this hotel for a week recently and have to say, an excellent time was had.

The basics are well reported on here, a little out of the city, not too much around the immediate area, busy roads, friendly staff, great breakfast, fantastic bathrooms, first class mattresses and sound proofed rooms - all is absolutely correct.

Some more details:

Took cab to and from Tegel - around €23 to hotel at 11pm but €25 going back at 4pm - lots of traffic that time of day (obviously).

Hotel situated on both Tram (M) and Train (S) there is no U close by. Not an issue. The ring trains S41 and S42 depending which way round the ring you go, get you to the far side of Berlin in 30 mins or so. The tram, gets you to Alexanderplatz in less than 10 mins.

Concierge can sort Welcome cards or day cards if you prefer for use on the trains/ trams or buses. As part of rate we had 3 day welcome cards on arrival which we extended and used a lot. Make sure you validate them in the machines on the tram or at the machines on the S Bahn station.

Saw 2 ticket inspectors - look like youths - plain clothes do a full ticket inspection just as the train pulls away from the platform - there is no escape. Each time they caught someone - and they were taken off at the next platform and fined.

There is a Norma supermarket opposite for bottled drinks snacks etc and another round the corner next to the Total garage, but I forgot the name of it.

If you buy bottled drink take the bottles back for a deposit refund 25c a go for the big ones.

We ate around Hackescher Markt most nights - I have done a review of Roccos. M5 takes you straight there a couple of stops after Alex.

Room service one night - more than adequate and saved us a walk/ tram as we had been out all day.

Coming back M5 or M6 takes you back to the hotel - in, what, 15 minutes max.

Spa great - it is "no clothes" but very comfortable and no hassles - someone did berate a couple who were wearing swimming costumes in the sauna - but it was done nicely and they removed their costumes. 2 sauna 1 steam room and a jacuzzi with a terrace and large rest area.

Rooms really are very comfortable - didn't hear another door banging or toilet flushing all week - very well insulated which meant a great nights sleep.

Will go back as being slightly out of town suited us very well.

Happy to try and answer any questions regards the hotel etc.

This hotel is kind of out of the way, but is across the street from a tram stop which can get you into the center of the former East Berlin in about six stops. The hotel offers free internet and computers on the lobby level. One level up is the dining room where the breakfast buffet is served. It's a great buffet. On the 12th floor is the Sky Cafe with great views of the city. The rooms have everything you need. The bathroom is very nice, separate tub and shower.

Really pleased with our choice. Room was super with good bathroom - plenty of space even with 16 year old daughter in double couch conversion in front of the TV! Breakfast was superb and I agree with other reviewers - enough to eat to set you up for the day - we only ate again in the evening. Concierge was very helpful and able to book Reichstag and river cruise at no additional costs. You can also buy transport tickets via him. The hotel is a little out of town but with a tram stop outside the hotel and S Bahn a few hundred yards, travel was quick and easy - just 10 minutes to Alexanderplatz and about 30 minutes from Tegal Airport.
