“Excellent find.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Found Zum Topfgucker on Tripadvisor in the vicinity of our hotel, looking for something traditionally German. We certainly were not disappointed. The friendly lady serving us dispensed with the menu and simply told us what was good and in season. The Beef Roulladen with sauerkraut and dumplings were truly excellent, washed down with Dunkelbier. Thank you!

“Authentic German Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

We went here on our first night in berlin. After a bit of walking around we decided on topfgucker mainly due to the reviews on here and partly because of the name. On arrival a friendly lady with good english came out and welcomed us to some outdoor seats. There was no menu, she just read out the specials of the day which we chose from. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was friendly and the Germans that were eating there had a great sense of humour. I would definitely recommend it!

“Undeniably German, undeniably good.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

Step inside and its hard to believe you are not far out of the city of Berlin. This place exudes so much charm you feel more like you're dining somewhere in the German countryside.

The food is delicious. There are no menus, instead the waitress tells you what the special of the day is - in our case it was asparagus season so everything was served with a huge side of asparagus. The service is friendly and homely, the food served in large portions and at very reasonable prices (12-15 euros per main).

This was not the fastest or most efficient experience, but the meals and experience is absolutely worth the wait.
Their english is pretty good if you cant speak German too.

“The German Kitchen as it should be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

In the spring 2011 we visited the Gallery Hotel Berlin. Late in the evening we needed some food so we asked the friendly man at the reception of the hotel. He adviced us Zum Topfgucker. Well, we can advice everybody who visites Berlin to go to Zum Topfgucker to tast the real German kitchen at his best. You can order a Schnitzel or something more sophisticated. Just what you like.
