Really good schnitzel, fair prized, quite large servings, good service, friendly staff. Close to U-bahn

we ate here on a trip to Schloss Charlottenburg whilst visiting Berlin. Then omelettes were light fluffy and very tasty. They came with a very nice side salad and boiled potatoes flavoured with herbs which were very tasty and cooked to perfection
My wife and I were on our way to visit Charlotenburg Schloss when we decided to look for somewhere to have a spot of lunch. It was around 11.30 and as such a lot of restaurants were just beginning to open for the day.
We spotted the beer garden for Johan Stelzeneder, which looked rather quaint so we thought we'd give it a go.
We were the first customers for the day and the very polite and friendly waitress soon had us seated with 2 cold beers in front of her.
A quick look through the rather comprehensive menu so my wife pick the mixed grill and I selected the filled schnitzel.
A cigarette and a few sips of beer later our meals arrived and Oh My Sweet Lord! My wife had enough on her plate to feed the bulk of a rugby team but she still tucked in with gusto.
My schnitzel was also big enough to have required the bulk of a cow for its production but it was SO delicious. Filled with Edam cheese and bacon, and featuring a beautiful golden crust it was the tenderest veal I had ever tasted.
We had neither the time nor the inclination to say much during our dining experience as the food was that good.
If you have a big appetite and a desire to taste real, genuine German/Austrian food then a stop at the Gasthaus Johann Stelzeneder is HIGHLY recommended.
