Beautiful ingredients and fresh food. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. On the pricier side of berlin living but definitely worth it!

I visit Berlin fairly often to see friends living here, and it's not that easy to find a good brunch location. But, went to Pappa e Ciccia today and I have to say it was one of the BEST brunch buffets I've had! And the staff is all very friendly and attentive. It is small and fills up quickly, so I would recommend making a reservation for the weekend brunch!

We stumbled into Pappa e Cuccia by coincidence on was most likely turned out to be the last warm night of 2012. All outside seats were taken, so we got comfy next to the big open window across from the take away counter. Place is a busy bugger that has a nice atmosphere and simple menu which totally pays tribute to the less is more principle of the Italian cuisine. We had some bruschattes to start with, followed by an excellent pulpo special of the day and a stew meat pasta. Finished off with ginger panna cotta after which we finished off the nice wine, walked a few meters to our hotel and slept like an Italian baby.

There are snall number of option in the menu. Not much to choose from. I took the Bolognese and it was fine, just fine... Not worth the 11 € they charge... My friend ordered something else (don't remmember the name but it's like Ravioli) and it was only three pieces, really not worth the 13€ they charge...

Restaurnt is always full in the evening. I live in Berlin not far from here, but when you re not in Prenzlauer Berg, there is no point to go here. Food is great, but very simply and rustical. Staff is frendly, but service is not great, when the restaurnt is full. Its great place for lunch, when you are in this area, but not more. This is the place for local people, who lives nearby.
