Nice clean hotel albeit without much personality. Good continental breakfast with decent coffee. Right on tube line of u2 which stops direct at many tourist spots. Unfortunately while we stayed there was a flood on the tube line with replacement buses which made the journey to alexanderplatz take one hour. Which was a treck when going into town n back twice a day. Next time I will get somewhere closer into town, however for the price I can't complain. Went on fat tire bike tour which was a great fun way to see the city.

VERY pleasantly surprised as this was part of a cheap mini-break with Easyjet. We were impressed for the same reasons as other reviewers and endorse their comments re. location, spacious rooms, comfort, breakfast and cleanliness. The place was absolutely SPOTLESS. Most guests seemed to be business people and the hotel doesn't aspire to offer anything other than a comfortable, clean place to sleep and a decent breakfast. This it does very well and we'd certainly stay there again

We have just returned from a 4 night break in Berlin - first time. Underground very near to the Hotel which was great value for money - clean, comfortable beds, fantastic breakfast and surrounded by great value restaurants - recommend Adilinos Italian just round the corner on the main street nearby the underground. Has a cocktail menu and the best menu with fresh pasta dishes. Run by friendly staff and two twin brothers.

We had no choice, as we booked a low cost three night package. However, the hotel was excellent. The room was big enough with the toilet and shower/sink separated. Everything worked and the beds were very comfy. The room was very clean. Breakfast more than adequate. Very near Theodor Heuss U bahn (U2). Recommend Lindenwirten Restaurant on Linden Strasse, easy walk from Hotel. Also go to Ka de We food hall (level 6), we've never seen anything as good. Go hungry. (Easy to get to, go to Wittenburg Platz on U2). We also enjoyed the insider tour Berlin walk.

We booked this as part of a lowcostholidays trip, so were looking for somewhere decent that was accessible to the centre of Berlin without being too expensive. The hotel was even better than I expected - basic clean room, lovely foyer and an amazing buffet breakfast that kept us going for the whole day, so you definitely get your money's worth! The staff were also lovely - the hotel is one of the many places that sell the Berlin WelcomeCard and the staff helpfully explained how it worked and the easiest way to travel to the city centre.
As others, have mentioned, the WiFi didn't work for us, but that wasn't much of a problem as we were on holiday so wouldn't really need it anyway.
We stayed for a week and were very happy with the hotel, it was exactly what we needed as a place to crash between sightseeing in Berlin - definitely recommended if you're after a no-frills option.

This is a wonderful hotel located nearby a train station. There are a lot of food places nearby and supermarket.

All the staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is pretty decent with a selection of cold cuts and bread. The room is clean with separate toilet and shower. If you are planning to go with a friend and you are not comfortable being watched while taking a bath, don't get this. The tiny shower area only has a see-through glass door (I am not sure though if all rooms are the same).

One thing though, they should improve on their wifi service. The staff told me that their only router is located at the ground floor. I stayed at the very last room on the 5th floor and I had to stay at corridor to get one bar of wifi connection because it doesn't go into the room. Also, the hallway on the 5th floor (i am not sure with the other floors) is very dark. It uses a sensor to turn on the lights - one yellow light at the end of the hallway, and going to the fire exit. It can be quite freaky at night because it is too dark. You can't even see where the lift is.

I am very disappointed that I did not read the reviews on tripadvisor before booking. Do not book unless you like throwing away your cash- which we had unintentionally :(

A few dot points for easy reading:

WIFI -->
a) Does not work at all, as mentioned by a few reviewers already (should have read this before booking). Ivberg staff gave a few excuses:

"Berlin is busy this time of year. The internet must be busy."
"I called the technician. He fixed it and when you came down to use it - it didn't work again."
"I'm sorry it is not my fault. You'll just have to do without."
"When things are free - people tend to expect it."

SERVICE -->
a) Do not expect to be serviced beyond your payment. Ivbergs will expect upfront payment before you step into your room and will not help you beyond this point.

ROOM -->
a) Odour emitting from carpet
b) No shower door so do not expect any privacy.
c) Lamp on bedside did not function.
d) Coat hanger falls off upon use.
e) Cheap cardboard-like walls- expect your conversations to be heard in the next room.
f) Moss on balcony

BREAKFAST -->
a) Would recommend walking 2mins to the nearest cafe. Beautiful breakfasts at 1/4 of the price. If you opt for the hotel breakfast - you will be staring at the receptionist's desk and emergency exit instead of a beautiful view of Berlin.

Best look elsewhere - do not get desperate as you can find better hotels at a similar location.

Room Tip: Please avoid our room - will be uploading our photos as soon as we return home to the 21st century.
