“very good. very nice place.”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Everything is very pleasant. Perfect service that does not make too much; the tastes and the associations of textures are a real success. The wine list allows to indulge itself without ruining itself ( possible Wine by glass ).Nothing is pretentious, everything is authentic. Everything is made with delicacy... A delight!

“"Fein aber klein" in Kreutzberg”
Reviewed May 1, 2012

Hartmann's is a very relaxed yet very fine gourmet restaurant in Berln's Kreutzberg section. Portions are small but exquisite with particularly fine locally sourced ingredients. Menu selections or ala carte can be combined with excellently chosen matched wines from a variety of regions (e.g, France, Austria, Alsace). The menu is not expansive but the quality of the cooking is self-evident. Finish off with a selection of French cheeses (all perfectly ripe) or a delicious hazelnut/chocolate combination (and again a matched wine). Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. In warm weather, outdoor seating is the preferred choice.

“Ranks up there with the best USA Gourmet restaurants”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

We are foodies and have enjoyed meals at Auberge in Napa and Inn at Little Washington. Hartmann's ranks very high in presentation, energetic flavor, service, ambience, and creative ingredients. They also work around food allergies. We think a taxi ride to this little restaurant will make your trip to Berlin very special. Expect to spend about $100/person if you choose to order the wine tasting option along with one of the fixed price options. However, I ordered a la carte, and I don't drink alcohol so my bill was under $50. Go early and get a table by the fire.

“Excellent, laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, great food”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

Excellent.

We went for the five course tasting menu with a twist. My girlfriend does not like fish which ruled out all the starters of the day but they were more than happy to offer alternatives without a second thought or hesitation. They were even attentive enough to change her amuse bouch to something not fishy it was an eel trio that night.

I went for the wines to go with the meal and had an excellent selection of mainly German wines, such and underrated producer in the UK as seem to be stuck on the mindset that the only wine out of German is Blue Nun and Black Tower!

Overall ambience is really relaxed, not stuffy at all and there is a real feeling that they run a tight ship there.

Will be visiting again during our next visit to Berlin.
