Kit made our last day in Berlin a wonderful memory. We enjoyed the outdoor market and the visit to several food shops purchasing all the items we needed to prepare our lunch. I really liked that Kit let the ingredients we found drive the day's menu. We ended the shopping trip at Kit's home where we made our delicious meal. Our meal reflected Kit's philosophy on food and a modern take on German cuisine, While we cooked, we enjoyed sparkling wine and the cheeses we purchased. The meal began with a delicious onion tart, followed by an incredibly fresh salad tossed with figs, roasted beets and toasted cashews. We continued with meatballs in a light root vegetable broth and finished with a warm apple cake with whipped cream.

Excellent experience! We enjoyed every moment and would definitely do it again… we were amazed to see how we could do good and healthy things out of very simple row material… thank you, we will never forget this moment!

Kit, bubbling with enthusiasm, took us on shopping expedition starting at a neighborhood marketing, then a bakery, cheese shop and wine store, all focusing on local ingredients. Back at her lovely apartment, my husband and I cooked a four course lunch meal learning about new German culinary styles and picking up preparation tips. It was a fantastic way to spend time in Berlin and learn more about German culture from a food perspective. Prost, Kit!

Wonderful private class for me and my wife. Takes you through the purchase of meat and produce at the market to cooking and eating the final product. Kit does a good job of understanding what your preferences are and in walking you through the food preparation steps - all done in her apartment.

The day started at the outdoor market - a farmer's market - discussing what we would cover and what our interests were. We found many things in common about our philosophies of using fresh, local and sustainable meat and produce.

After selecting the food, the preparation became a highlight - and the results were so good. Making and snacking on Flammkuchen (German bread with red onions, sour cream and speck) was our first tasty experience. Also enjoyable was learning to use herbs and vegetables specific to German cooking (e.g., Frankfurt green sauce).

Important was the low pressure way my wife and I became immersed in the cooking process - and the personalized menu we received later.

One of the best cooking classes we've taken in Europe - the shopping aspect makes it special.
