My daugther and her two girlfriends stayed here for four nights. They were really pleased with the accomodation. The rooms were great, the bathrooms clean and public transport was close by.
However, the problem was on the last day. They were required to checkout in the morning and could not leave their luggage at the Pension. They were told to leave their luggage in lockers provided in the main trainstations. The girls ended up going to 3 large trainstations and could not find one empty large locker...so the girls ended up lugging around their suitcases until 22.00 at night. It really spoiled their last full day in Berlin! Such a pity!
If the accomodation would not have had this issue with luggage, I would have given it a 100% rating. However, not providing an option for storing luggage (particularly during peak season) on departure days is a huge minus.

What a disappointment after reading so many good reviews! We stayed at the "apartment" (a large studio). The shower does not work properly: you can either freeze to death or get boiled, your choice! When you stay for several days it quickly becomes a nightmare. The WiFi is also useless. Count 5 minutes to load the most basic webpage. And that was not a temporary issue; I have been in rural B&Bs recently and got great internet in comparison.

Other than this, the apartment was a bit dusty in places but nice overall. It is light, nicely decorated and the small kitchen was great for the breakfasts. However, until those two issues are fixed, I would recommend to choose another place.

Thank you for your feedback. We have repaired the shower and exchanged the WiFi Router with a better one. Now the signal strength is good. Also we do not charge the WiFi, so we have used a cheaper flat rate which reduced bandwidth after 1 GB traffic. We are now rethinking this. We hope you will come back and visit us again. All your feedback is helpful for us. Thanks again.

I stayed here with a friend in September 2011. The room was lovely and bright with a nice high ceiling and comfortable bedding. The bathroom was really nice and although it was shared we never had to wait to use it and it was only a couple of doors down the short corridor. The only thing we found difficult about the B & B was the entrance into the apartment without the help of knowledgeable staff. What I didn't know before our stay here was that European locks are very different to UK locks. This resulted in a very scary period of time spent in the hall way of a Berlin apartment block thinking we were never going to get into the apartment. But we eventually did and it was a lovely stay once we had the lock system explained to us!
The apartment is in a lovely location, really near a tube station and very close to a big shopping centre and main high street. We absolutely loved our stay to this amazing and beautiful city and when we do come back we will most likely be staying here! Thank you for a great stay :)

p.s. trip advisor won't let me select 2011 as our date of stay so I have had to put 2012.

The reception wasn't open the evening we came, but it was easy enough to grab the key from one of the boxes outside their door. We had some trouble at first finding the light switch because it was dark and the first light switch on the right ended up being for the kitchen; the light was broken so it flickered on and off before it turned off completely. Luckily we had a flashlight but in case you're in the same pickle, there's a light switch on the left (we didn't see it because the front door was covering it at first) which turns on the hallway lights. We had room #10 which was super spacious, very modern, and very clean, but looks out to an unsightly backyard. The bathroom door was hard to lock at first; it uses one of those old skeleton keys but if you prop up the door slightly with your foot and turn the key right, that should do the trick. We had the entire apartment to ourselves our first 2 nights which was great! Also, the Prenzlauer Berg area was really great as well. It's filled with plenty of restaurants (I highly recommend the 15-minute walk to Der Fischladen), a shopping center, and the S-Bahn which made it super convenient.

Just a warning, the front desk has limited operating hours so you might not get a super quick fix if you have any issues during their off hours but they got back to us in about a hour when we had wifi trouble. Also, there's some slight construction nearby during the daytime, but not bad at all. But at €50/night, Absolut Berlin was a great place to stay especially if you're on a budget.

We rented the "Studio Apartment" in the Mitte/Prenzlauerberg area. Very close to U-bahn, trams and Alexander Platz
It is the perfect location for a myriad of special shops and great affordable restaurants.
You can relax and feel totally at easy in the middel of a big exciting and pulsating city.

The Apartment is light and airy located on the 4th floor of an older apartment building.
It has a good functional kitchen with cooker and washing machine. A good firm bed and a sleeper-sofa in the sitting room area.
A nice spacious bathroom with tub.

We were allowed early check-in free of charge, which was a great help.
Our only complaint was the the doorbel and WLAN didn't work.

I highly recommend this apartment for a stay in the "real" Berlin.

Room Tip: There is some street noise, so I recommend bringing earplugs.
