“World traveler”
Reviewed May 2, 2011

I've traveled extensively and eaten many meals. This one was memorable and this is a place I dined twice on the same trip.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The owner was there and treated us like we were frequent guests even though she knew we were not from Germany.

Go here you will be happy you did.

“If you like food, wine & Ambiente, this is the place to go”
Reviewed March 16, 2011

Everything is top here and we have always had a fantastic evening here. The food is sublime, the food creations (incl. the fantastic deserts) & attention to detail awesome, the ambiente fabulous, the lady sommelier lovely & the wine list not only extensive but excellent.
All staff are silverservice & very friendly. You never sit w/out an empty glass of water or wine and your comments are welcome.
We can very very highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food, great service, but over the top on price. Highly recommended for a special occasion though.

“A gourmet "home cooked" meal like your mother didn't make”
Reviewed February 21, 2010

On a recent visit in the Deutsche Hauptstadt I sought advice of the concierge on a good restaurant. Skeptical of such advice (often motivated by kickbacks in some countries) I took a friend there for dinner, nonetheless.
After a few bad meals in Berlin I was getting discouraged and did not want to visit some of the once great places just to be disappointed again.
We took a taxi to Lutzowplatz, more a small park that a platz, a 5 min drive form the hotel, where we fond a cluster of nice restaurants on the far side behind the trees. With fresh snow fall on the tree and the sparkling lights reflecting from the top of the buildings, the view was magical.
Being this a weeknight and just after a minor snow storm, there were quite a few tables available, and were soon seated.
The menu was simple and it seemed made up mostly of the "daily specials".
We chose one suggested menu with wine pairing and one meal a la carte. One of the wines was a wonderful 2008 Lemberger from Württemberg which I had never tried before. It was paired with a delicious Swabian 3 cuts of Lamb served with potato slices and vegetables. The fish was a pike perch with puree of peas and vegetables and it was so good!
The severs were a bit too subdued but very helpful and professional.
We liked this restaurant so much we came there again the following weekend and enjoyed it even more!
This is a gem of a restaurant for anyone tired of the ubiquitous Mediterranean or French cuisine, yet not a fan of the so called "German" beer garden cuisine (fired schnitzel, fried potato, and a hearty salad with beer). We highly recommend it!
