“788 yr old Cathedral.”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

It is huge, white washed and well decorated. Must see! All cathedrals are different from each other.
Cathedral was reconstructed in the year 1040 to 1225 in Romanesque style.

“Include in your visit to Wuerzburg”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

The cathedral is really quite impressive and should be a part of your visit to downtown Wuerzburg. Make sure you include a visit to the crypts when you are in the cathedral. There is a really nice cafe next to the cathedral that merits a visit for cake after touring the Dom.

“Fourth Largest Romanesque Church in Germany”
Reviewed March 6, 2011

Dom St. Kilian is imposing. Its spires can be seen from all over town and its basic Romanesque basilica floor plan with transept sets a peaceful tone. There are Baroque elements of decoration in sharp contrast to the simpler structure style. Built between 1045 and 1188, the cathedral was named for Wurzburg's patron saint, an Irish monk who came there in 686.

This is a very pleasant church to visit. I came here at dusk, so my photos are limited, but I suggest taking the time to see it.
