The hotel is located outside the centre of Würzburg, is on the higher area, not far from Marienberg Fortress. The hotel is built in a castle style, especially the interior. The red carpet, the corridor with all the castle attributes on both side of the wall, such as coat of arms, spear, here and there the armours. Paintings of the medieval periode are everywhere, also in the room. It's a bit kitschy but it's funny. The most important, everything was oke, the room, the bathroom and the staff were very friendly. Very good breakfast. It's highly recommended

Charming family-run hotel on top of a hill, over looking town. Corridors are lined with frames featuring illustrations of knights and coat-of-arms-- a very unique touch and one which sets it apart from other hotels.

The rooms were very spacious and the restaurant staff were very attentive. I wish i had more time to stay there.

Wittelsbacher Höh Ringhotel is a middle-sized, family-run hotel situated on a small hill, among vineyards. The restaurant terrace and some rooms offer a great view over Würzburg, a castle, and the vineyards.

The historic downtown and the fortress-castle („Festung Marienberg”) are about 2 kilometers from the hotel, which is less than 30 minutes if you walk, and by car it is only a few minutes.

The building is over a hundred years old, but was renovated not long ago. The address (Hexenbruchweg 10) may sound ominous, but no need to worry, the last „witch” was burned there over 250 years ago.

Granted, the furniture and the decor are … eclectic (to put it mildly), but at any rate, this makes the place more memorable. The beds are comfortable, the closets large, and the kids liked the fake medieval suits of armor on display near the restaurant. The „medieval castle” feeling is reinforced by the long, dark corridors.

The rooms are usually spacious and quiet, but there are significant differences: some of them rather dark and face parking cars, others have great panorama. The furniture also differs from one room to another. So if you have a choice, it may be a good idea to have a look at a few rooms and choose the one that best suits your needs.

The staff were friendly and they spoke good English. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a large selection, and I have no complaints about the dinner either.

Parking is free but gets tricky when the hotel is full.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Wittelsbacher Höh Ringhotel is a curiosity and it offers far more than most three-star hotels.

Room tip: If you have a choice, it may be a good idea to have a look at a few rooms and choose the one that best suits your needs.

Very comfortable room, lovely terrace to dine on with views over the city, and with attentive and happy staff to look after you, I was very happy here and look forward to more visits. The town is historically and architecturally interesting and the bars the bridges and the trams fascinating.

We unfortunately had to adjust our accommodation from 2 nights to 1 night and the staff where very helpful and we had a package including a traditional meal package, which they kept and honoured. The food was amazing and the local wine superb , sitting on the terrace with amazing views over the town.
The room was really large and clean and the bed was so comfortable.
The hotel is on top of the hill hence the view but it is a big walk back to the hotel from the town, it worked off our food and ice cream .
Loved it place
