Our room was very large. It had a large poster bed with a gauze hanging around it. The other positive was being on the ground floor. both of these became negatives with the extreme heat that happened during our visit. The poster bed with canopy blocked any air movement. Being on the ground floor meant that we could not keep our windows and curtains open, further causing the room to be miserably hot. The biggest plus to me was the walk in shower with the large showerhead. I loved the shower! Otherwise the bathroom was really tiny and hard to maneuver around things. The room was big enough to have a couch plus a set of individual chairs and a large antique-looking wardrobe, in addition to the canopy bed. The staff recommended a couple of good eating options for lunch and dinner. It is a hike from the train station outside the city walls, and seemed longer due to the extreme heat, but the walk is not difficult. Breakfast was superb and varied. We wished we had more than one morning to enjoy it.

Our family of 5 stayed one night here in June 2014, and were happy with the choice. We picked them because they could accommodate all five of us in one room, which is rare. It's a buget hotel, so nothing fancy, but it was quite serviceable. They had us in one huge room with one double bed and 4 single beds... an assortment of fold-aways and converted couches. Some were more comfortable than others... and the double bed, while comfortable, was also very creaky, so that light sleepers were easily disturbed by tossing and turning. However, it was worth it to have us all together. There was still plenty of room for luggage. The bathroom was also roomy, and had a blow dryer, though the shower was just a stall and no tub. No elevator (we were one floor up) but they helped us with luggage. No AC, but it was plenty cool with the windows open. No fridge in room.

Location was good... we were able to walk from the train station without too much exertion, and could also walk all to the main square and everything we wanted to see in the city. Service was good and friendly. The hotel itself was cute, with an adorable courtyard under our window. Breakfast was included and was good... not a huge selection, but they had American-style eggs and bacon and were happy to make more when we needed it. They stored our luggage for us during the day-- it was tucked into a corner of the breakfast room and not actually locked up anywhere, though the hotel is so small and personally run that it didn't worry us.

Received a booking confirmation 3 months before the trip and when we arrived, we were just coolly told off that they were overbooked !! They did get a similar room for us at another place but the fact that irritates us is that they sent us a confirmation right after the booking which was 3 months before the trip itself and didn't bother to cancel or inform us that they were overbooked! The place they sent us to was ok but I would still have liked to have looked for another room myself!! And then we found out on departure day that it happens on a regular basis !!

Totally IRRESPONSIBLE for a hotel !!

The hotel is located in a quiet street but you could walk easily to the central part of Rothenburg. The hotel staff was very nice. When we arrived we asked if we could park our car in the courtyard. He helped us find a spot right outside of the hotel on the street and saved us 3 Euros.

The breakfast was very nice, and I enjoyed this stay a lot. Would stay here again!

We stayed one night at Hotel Garni Kreuzerhof on a family vacation through Germany. The hotel is like a guesthouse - small, cozy, comfortable, located on a residential street inside the walled city of Rothenburg. Our sleeping room and bathroom were very large and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and the staff were very nice. We were able to park in the courtyard when we stayed there.

Very affordable, walking distance to everything, breakfast included, clean, cute, what more could you want? We spent one night and there were four of us in the family room which had more than enough space.

My daughter and I stayed at this charming hotel this month on our tour of the German Christmas markets. The hotel, as well as the town, was our favorite during our 10 day trip. The room was spacious, warm, and comfortable. The hotel is situated on a quiet side street. We walked from the train station and a nice Australian couple showed us the way-we would have had a difficult time finding our way! The staff was very helpful, and the breakfast substantial. The best thing was being able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The price was better than the other towns we stayed in, although still a bit pricey since it was during the Christmas Markets. We loved this hotel and highly recommend you stay at least one night during your travels.

Room Tip: Our room was in a courtyard building and I believe it was single story-so no stairs! Those of you w...
