The room is very comfortable and the bathroom is huge and modern.
Well located, in the middle of town. You can find a lot of small shops near the hotel, with interesting things.
The staff is very kind.
If you came by car, you have to park at the street. The hotel doesn't have private parking. But walking around the city is very interesting.

Beautiful, charming and romantic hotel. Everyone is very welcoming, friendly and professional. Location is perfect, within the walled city. Hotel is on the same street as the main square. The rooms are very well maintained and clean. The beds are very comfy and bathrooms are remodeled and modern. I loved my stay, and look forward to returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay !!!!!

Perfect location where you can walk the entire town from inside the walled city. This 800 year old building has been recently restored and is totally modern on the inside. Elevator, large modern bathroom with shower and oversized tub, air conditioning and heat etc... They provide a wonderful breakfast with cooked to order eggs as well as the traditional European breakfast items. Parking in the hotels private parking lot out back is 5 euro per day. Parking on the street out front is nearly impossible. (Park directly in front of the hotel entrance to check in and unload, then they will direct you to parking in the rear)
When I return to Rothenburg I will certainly stay here again!

Although the core of the building dates back hundreds of years, this is hardly noticeable in the rooms which are meticulously maintained, clean, and comfortable. The reception is not staffed 24 hours per day, which might present a problem from time to time (I had to find an electric switchboard to reset a couple of fuses because no one was there to fix the problem at 7 am). But this is a lovely hotel with a very nice breakfast buffet and private parking spaces either in the lot behind the building or a separate garage.

Room Tip: Both rooms - those facing the main street (view of the Franciscan church) and those facing the backy...

The Hotel is very very cosy, it has a big room perfect for families with 2 bedrooms and a newly renovated WC. Depending on your apartment the WLAN signal doesn't reach properly, but it's free. The breakfast is good. The location is perfect with free parking across the street and very near to the old castle gardens, also you can walk all around the city and see most of the touristics sights in about 2 hours and sit in a cosy restaurant to enjoy some of the local brews or Franconian wine.

Here we have a superb three-star hotel, recently renovated, at a great price.

There are absolutely no problems - fantastic.

Proper car parking. Perfect location. Brand new modern bathrooms. Perfect WiFi. Free breakfast - eggs cooked to order. Lovely big old building. Good restaurant. 800 year old wooden columns. Reasonable price.

It is owned by the excellent Mr. Klatte. You will see him everyday. The same family owns for 20 years another hotel, also perfectly operated, just nearby. They purchased this hotel around 2010 and completely renewed all the bathrooms and updated everything.

(I like quaint, 800 year-old hotels but I really prefer BRAND NEW BATHROOMS! So, that's exactly what you get here.)

So this is the German miracle - although it is "only" a 3 star hotel, you ask why would you stay at a five star hotel? Here, the service is impeccable, everything is spotless, the linen is excellent, the rooms are generous, the bathrooms are brand new, there's plenty of history - really why pay two times as much (or more) for a 4 or 5 star hotel?

So, what a great choice to enjoy the unique city of Rothenburg. Thanks, Herr Klatte!

Room Tip: If you're a family, or indeed even just one person, the family suite is great and great value.

My wife is from Rothenburg, but we have no more family there, so now stay in hotels when we visit. Several trips ago we stayed at the Meistertrunk, and loved it, settling on it as our Rothenburg home away from home. When booking for a trip this October, we were surprised to see a name change to The BurgGartenpalais, but booked anyway, assuming the best possible. And it was. The Meistertrunk had been purchased by the same couple who own and run the Burg Hotel. The family has a long and distinguished background in the hotel business in Rothenburg, and adding The Meistertrunk to their holdings is a benefit to them and the public both.
Still the same fine place, but the owners are already working on positive changes. For example, we always stay in Room 3 overlooking the street. On one trip, our daughter was with us and stayed in a small but comfortable room next to #3. Had to break it to her that her old room is now the foyer of #3, which has been expanded, redecorated and is now the largest room in the hotel. A perfect room for a several-day stay, particularly for old fuds like us, who do not go out at night, but stay in the room after a day of hiking about, downloading the day's photos, doing Internet and reading.
Great kitchen: lunches and dinners were fine in an outstanding setting. And the breakfasts are as good as they get. And the breakfast room is one of the finest we have been in from a decor standpoint; it is easy to slip into the mental role of a mediaeval Rothenburger while sitting there.
Free Wi-Fi, inexpensive on-site parking, and a super location on the Herrngasse next to the Burg Garden. The owners assured us that - since their puchase of the facility - they have updated and upgraded much, and that is a continuing program. Our room was just one example of their efforts. A highly recommended location.
A note about Rothenburg: to those of you who have been there once, or have only heard about, it can seem to be a real tourist trap. Seems like every tour in the world stops there, and the streets are teeming with gawkers looking at souvenir shops and Christmas trinket purveyors. DON'T let this bother you. Go in the off-season, stay overnight and enjoy when the day trippers are gone - or just look over everybody and enjoy a rare sight. The city is a jewel, a living museum, a fortuitous assemblage of brick and mortar that defies description, but always delights. Take two walks a day in the Burg Garden - morning and evening. Don't miss the Reichsstadt Museum, marvel at the Riemenschneider altar in the St. Jacobs Church, walk the walls, check out the fortifications. If you have a car, do day trips; visit Dinklesbuehl for sure. Seek other small towns of note. Whatever you do - enjoy. It's easy to do there. We've been doing it for 50 years and still marvel at what we see and find. And enjoy the BurgGarten Palais Hotel. We will again.

It is not difficult to find a room for the nights in Rothenburg. One of the loveliest is to be found in the Herrngasse. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, so that an enjoyable stay is assurd. One of the oldest nobleman`s house with individual and stylish interior. ... more   less
