Stayed here for two nights after three days cycling along the Romantic Route. The room was reasonably spacious, well presented and very clean. Good sized bathroom with a very powerful walk-in shower. Room was quite hot when we arrived but soon cooled down by opening the window fully and turning on the large fan supplied in the room.

Have to agree with previous contributors regarding the breakfast - excellent choice and nicely laid out.

We didn't meet the owner but the son and daughter went out of their way to make us welcome - both extremely friendly, effecient and helpful.

The courtyard is nice but unfortunately the weather prohibited us taking full advantage of it.

The hotel also has safe storage for bicycles.

Well worth a visit.

My husband & I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary, in Rothenburg ob de Tauber, and stayed at Hotel Gerberhaus for 2 wonderful days and nights. From the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed like long lost friends! The owner, Inge, her daughter Debra and son (sorry can't remember his name - but I remember his sweet and caring spirit) are absolutely wonderful. So helpful, great sense of humor, warm and caring. Our room was so quaint and charming - canopy bed, blue gingham checked duvet cover, white eyelet curtains in the windows, with an updated bathroom! Plenty of room, with a beautiful view. The garden courtyard is peaceful and a wonderful place to relax, have a glass of wine, or just listen to the birds. The breakfast is delicious, with a large variety to choose from. It is the most beautifully preserved mediieval town. A wonderful way to escape from the pressures of the world. The location is very convienient. Located on a beautiful cobblestone street, close to everything. When we left, Inge walked us to our taxi, and hugged us both good-bye. Not only did we enjoy our stay at Gerberhaus, but we also made a new friend!!!

Friendly staff, very clean rooms and bathroom, beautifull vieuw at the old wall around the village. Great garden where you can sit and read a book when you feel like it.

Breakfast is awesome, hotel is situated in the old town. I can't find anything negative to say, everything was very good.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hotel Gerberhaus, a family run hotel for the two nights we were in Rothenburg. The moment we stepped into this hotel, we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young lady who just happens to be the owner's daughter. All the staff provided us with good hospitality during the entire stay. The breakfast was lovely and the server was attentive and friendly too. The location is ideal and within walking distance to all the sights within the old city wall. However, we had to take a taxi from the train station to the hotel because we felt it was quite a distance to pull our luggage. We were very happy to use the free internet service to do our e-mailing back home.

We stopped here for two nights as part of a Europe tour. The Hotel is fantastic and perfectly located on the cobbled road into the main town. Our room was huge with lovely old beams and creaky wooden floors. The bed was two 3ft divans together so loads of room to wriggle. Our room faced out onto the road so although there was a bit of traffic noise it was barely noticeable. The bathroom was large with a bath. Everywhere was clean with lots of interesting artefacts in all the nooks and crannies. There is an outside area with seating and a cafe. The absolute 'cherry on the cake' was the breakfast of the like I have never seen before....and I've seen a few! Everything you could imagine (except the bog standard cooked british version) even chocolates!!!
Rothenburg ob der Tauber is touristy but once the masses left for the day the town is lively with plenty of places to eat and reasonably priced. The Criminal museum is worth a visit and a walk round the walls is a must.

We arrived in Rothenburg with no accommodation booked and arrived off the street to ask for a room. From the moment we walked in the door, the service was excellent, even though they were obviously busy as the town had a festival that weekend.
The hotel is located within the city walls, with off street parking in the lane behind. The girl who showed us our room (we didn't get her name) gave advice as to what to see and do and restaurant suggestions.
The breakfast was the best we have seen on our travels. The choices were wide and varied, from fresh berries to pastries, cold meats and cheeses, there was something to please even the fussiest of breakfast eaters. The breakfast room setting just added to the experience.
I highly recommend this Hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Gerberhaus in the the old part of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The hotel as well as the town oozed with mediaeval charm. From the moment we walked through the big old wooden doors, we were impressed by the ambience of the hotel, which was specially decorated for Christmas. The lady who managed the hotel was very friendly and helpful.
We arrived by train and it was just a short taxi ride to the hotel. It was quite impressive driving through the Spital Bastion and into the old town.
Our room was on the top floor and the stairs and hallways on the way up were adorned with all sorts of interesting things, old and new. We had a beautifully decorated attic style room, with ample space (for Europe) and comfy beds and pillows. Everything was very clean.
There was free Internet access via the computer on the first floor. Wi-Fi was available for a fee.
Breakfast was an experience in itself. The room was hundreds of years old, with foot-thick walls, paintings and antiques. The food was set out beautifully with a wide choice, including a small selection of chocolate treats which was a hit with our sons.
Stepping out onto the street was like stepping back in time (if you took away the cars). The hotel was within the city walls, about 500m from the Marktplatz in one of the best-preserved mediaeval towns in Germany. Rothenburg odT was full of romantic old buildings, fountains, museums and churches, as well as bakeries, cafes and unique and interesting shops. (It took over half an hour to walk the 500m to the town centre!) It's a delightful place to spend hours in. We were there during the Christmas Markets and the whole place took on an enchanting atmosphere, especially at night time. We spent three wonderful days here and it wasn't long enough.
