A well located and well run hotel in the historic walled city. nice room, excellent breakfast, and wi-fi access (albeit on the ground floor lounge area).
Parking on street opposite.
Enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel without reservation.

We stayed at this hotel in June 2007 because of a Karen Brown Guidebook recommendation and loved it. We also stayed in the new section and were very happy. We agree that although the room was newly renovated, it still has the old world flavor. It was also in a good location, the breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly
and helpful.

This is an atmospheric hotel in a very old building in the heart of the Old Town and near all the major sights. The hotel is basically right next to one of the medieval city gates and only one or two blocks off the main square on a cobblestone street with lots of shopping and a few restaurants.

We stayed in a family apartment in the new section. I worried a bit that the "new section" would feel less "old and charming" but this was not the case (I think "new section" means fresh paint and furnishings but the old-building charm remains).

The staff is very friendly and efficient, accomodations were comfortable and breakfast was basic but good. We didn't have dinner in the restaurant but heard good things about it.

There was only one negative: the medieval gate right next to the hotel has a clock tower that clangs all night long (not the hotel's fault) making it very difficult to get a good night's sleep unless it is cool enough to close the windows. In most of the other towns we stayed in the clocks were silent for the night - not sure why Rothenburg is different.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. I picked it due to the Rick Steve's guidebook recommendation, and wasn't disappointed. I was put in the newly renovated non-smoking section and couldn't complain a bit. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom had a great shower and area, and the rest was wooden floors and furniture. Great for a single traveler.

Checking in was a bit rough - as your not sure if your entering the hotel or the restaurant section at first, but be patient - there are two gals running both at the same time.

I also recommend the restaurant attached to the hotel for dinner, fabulous soup, salad and main course.

The hotel is at the far end of the town, so be prepared for some walking from the train station (as parking and amount of cars let in is limited), but it is in very close proximity to the Gardens, the middle of the town and the Kathe Wolfhart Christmas store.

Great Hotel. Clean, quiet room (...excepting the thunderstorm, which couldn't be helped), nice bathroom, good shower, nice bed, lovely breakfast, very helpful staff, free internet access. The town of Rothenburg itself was especially lovely after all the tour buses left.

The only thing we found odd about the room was the odd placement of the bathroom mirrors...which made it a little awkward to use them.

This B&B is a gem. The room was HUGE and the bathroom was HUGE (with beautiful tiled walls). A very comfortable bed. Lots of old (original?) woodwork, leaded glass in the corridor. Breakfast was delicious served with what I'm sure was fresh squeezed orange juice. It is a close walk to everything in the old city. There wasn't internet service in the room but there is a computer in the hallway that can be used by the guests. I didn't know that German keyboards have the Z and Y reversed from the QWERTY style keyboards in the US! QWERTZ? We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

My wife, 17-month old son, sister, and brother-in-law all stayed a night at this great hotel a block from the main square. I booked via e-mail with no hassles.

We booked the "apartment" which was really a kind of "super suite". It included two separate bedrooms, and a third bedroom in an open loft above a large living room and small kitchen. This spacious accomodation is perfect for groups. The open timbers in the ceiling give a wonderful ambiance. The bathroom is very large and includes both a tub and separate shower. The suite is on the third floor of the "old section" of the hotel overlooking the street, but was well-furnished with a flat screen TV and comfortable beds.

It was perfect for us because it allowed us to put the baby to bed in one of the separate bedrooms, so that the adults could visit in the living area. We enjoyed a neat little balcony, too, where we had an informal wine and cheese party in the afternoon after a busy day of touring the city. The view was wonderful and looked out over the medieval city and the green countryside. Note: The suite is not toddler-proof and does have some stairs, so be careful.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant that evening which was delicious. My only complaint was that they would not allow me to charge the meal to my room and pay for everything at once the next day. Most hotels of this caliber allow that option; however, this was a minor inconvenience.

Breakfast was included and offered a delicious assortment of fresh croissants, sweet breads, flavored yougurts, fruit, and sliced meats. Although it did not include hot dishes like pancakes or eggs, it was just enough to get one's day started. Check out was easy and all the staff members were friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again!
