My family stayed here for one night in October 2013 while travelling through Germany. A German friend of ours told us that we must spend at least one day in Rothenburg while in Germany, and we are glad we did. The city is beautiful, especially with all the leaves turning color. We enjoyed the shopping and sightseeing a lot, but the Hotel Klosterstueble was the highlight of our trip. The hotel is located in a very old building that has been lovingly restored and cared for. We had a two-room family room, which was spacious and clean. The furnishings are a little run down, but that simply added to the ambiance. The beds are very comfortable. The only down-side for us was the location of room, which was directly over the hotel kitchen. As a result, we could here all the noise in the kitchen (including pots and pans being banged around and yelling), and we could smell the food being cooked. Luckily, the restaurant closed around 10 and we were finally able to sleep. The breakfast in the morning was delicious--best breakfast we had while travelling in Germany. All in all, it was a great stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is NOT located directly over the kitchen.

The hotel has everything you might want in Rothenburg: a great mix of old architecture and modern facilities, beautifully put together. The staff were friendly and efficient, the restaurant was also very good, as long as you like traditional German fare. We had a room right at the top of the hotel, which was worth the climb as it was utterly spectacular.

Room Tip: Ask if the top room is available. It's amazing.

We didn't stay in the hotel but had a most delicious and affordable meal. The staff were friendly and made you feel like a regular. If you get the chance, stop by and have a great meal.

Sorry, dinner only. No critique of the hotel which by the way looked fabulous.

Hotel Klosterstueble was a perfect location in the walls of the old city. It gives you a feel of the history. The receptionist was most helpful. She showed us our choices of rooms and helped us choose. She even carried a suitcase up a few flights of stairs! It was great to be in a historic hotel. We strolled around the city wall at sunset. We dined in their fine restaurant. The breakfast was delicious and generous.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Klosterstueble although the hotel is a bit quirky. We waited for quite a while for someone to show up at reception to check in. But once we were checked in the hotel was wonderful. It was very relaxing. We had a traditional room that was very comfortable. The bed was quite firm. The outdoor restaurant was lovely for enjoying a nice glass of wine or beer with dinner. No wifi in the room but we were able to use a centrally located public computer in the hotel. The hotel is in a good location for walking around Rothenburg. There is street parking in front of the hotel and we were able to find a space. The breakfast was fresh and there were plenty of choices. The drawback was no air conditioning and the room was very hot during the day. It cooled off at night with both windows open.

We stayed 2 nights in this delightful town, and what made it even better was staying at Hotel Klosterstueble.

Our room was spacious and finished in a rustic style, which made for a great place to come back to after our many walks around the town. We rested well here both nights. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was truly impressed with how hard they worked to take care of their guests. Breakfast was excellent each day. We also had dinner at the restaurant one night, which also was excellent.

My husband and I spent two nights in Hotel Klostersteuble in May 2006 (sorry for the late review!) while traveling through Bavaria. I remember it like yesterday. The hotel is beautifully appointed, clean, and inviting. Our room had an annex to it with bunk beds and a table -- perfectly suitable for a family of 4. The location is perfect and the food was delicious. Be warned, however, that the shower is a bit tiny...I seem to recall having to step out of the shower to shave my legs :)
