“Enjoyed Our Stay in Rothenburg”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Klosterstueble although the hotel is a bit quirky. We waited for quite a while for someone to show up at reception to check in. But once we were checked in the hotel was wonderful. It was very relaxing. We had a traditional room that was very comfortable. The bed was quite firm. The outdoor restaurant was lovely for enjoying a nice glass of wine or beer with dinner. No wifi in the room but we were able to use a centrally located public computer in the hotel. The hotel is in a good location for walking around Rothenburg. There is street parking in front of the hotel and we were able to find a space. The breakfast was fresh and there were plenty of choices. The drawback was no air conditioning and the room was very hot during the day. It cooled off at night with both windows open.

We stayed 2 nights in this delightful town, and what made it even better was staying at Hotel Klosterstueble.

Our room was spacious and finished in a rustic style, which made for a great place to come back to after our many walks around the town. We rested well here both nights. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was truly impressed with how hard they worked to take care of their guests. Breakfast was excellent each day. We also had dinner at the restaurant one night, which also was excellent.

My husband and I spent two nights in Hotel Klostersteuble in May 2006 (sorry for the late review!) while traveling through Bavaria. I remember it like yesterday. The hotel is beautifully appointed, clean, and inviting. Our room had an annex to it with bunk beds and a table -- perfectly suitable for a family of 4. The location is perfect and the food was delicious. Be warned, however, that the shower is a bit tiny...I seem to recall having to step out of the shower to shave my legs :)

An ideal place to explore Rothenburg .The hotel is comfortable, with very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast is also excellent . The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff helped us in parking our car on more than one occasion as parking can be a problem in the town. There is a nice lounge bar in the hotel itself, with great cocktails.

We stayed at this Hotel in July of 2013.
Driving though the old town was not at all difficult, and at check in the nice lady showed us exactly where to park. All very easy.
Our room was on the top floor(lots of steps so if you have mobility issues please request a lower floor room). I personally enjoy winding my way through these wonderful old buildings. The room was an open concept plan with a shower/sink visible from the main bed. All out in the open. Above was a loft with the second bed. Utterly charming, perfectly clean, and like a nest above the town.
Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Rothenburg itself is quite a busy, touristy town--but for a good reason-- it's truly one of most beautiful towns in Germany. For those who like this type of medieval atmosphere I would strongly recommend Bruges, Belgium as an even more beautiful holiday destination-- along with various other small towns in Holland and England. Plus there are some smaller towns in Germany nearby without the tourists, but in all honesty once you leave the main square and venture into the side streets and alleyways, the crowds disappear.
Hotel Klosterstueble is perfectly located only a couple minutes walk from the square.
Breakfast was an enormous assortment of breads, meats, cheeses, etc., and the atmosphere was just what you'd expect for an older building that has been well kept and updated in a way to preserve the old, but spoil the guests with the newer bathrooms and facilities.
Would have no reason to stay anywhere else the next time we find ourselves in this enchanting German town.

My wife and two daughters stayed here on what was their first trip to Germany. We used this as a starting point the first two days of our 9 days in Germany.

The service was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful sunroom with exposed stone and beams. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet.

The location was ideal for walking and exploring the old walled city.

Room Tip: The connected restaurant is delightful
