“Amazing stay in a beautiful town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

My mother and I stayed here for two nights in December and had a fabulous time.

Our room was huge – it was more like a suite really, as it had a separate sitting area as well as a very large bedroom with a wooden four-poster bed. It also looked out onto a pretty walled garden.

The views from the breakfast room were stunning – the windows look out over the beautiful Tauber valley. I believe the hotel is actually built into the wall of the Old Town. It’s truly a magical location.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and there is also a private garage across the road where we were able to park our car for a reasonable price.

Rothenburg itself is beautiful, and in wintertime with snow falling and Christmas decorations everywhere it was even more so.

The town (and the Burg hotel!) were one of the highlights of our trip.

This hotel (more of a B&B) mirrors Rothenburg -- charming, quaint, and wonderful. It's built into the town wall and is full of character, as you would expect. Both the town and the hotel were decorated beautifully for Christmas. If you can't get into the Christmas spirit in Rothenburg, there is not hope for you!

The owners are charming and helpful. We had a nice room with a sitting room, which gave us plenty of space. It had a beautiful view over the wall to the countryside. Breakfast was very good with a nice buffet and cooked hot breakfast. The only downside to this hotel is that it is at the far end of town from the train station. We had not problem walking -- it took about 15 minutes and was a delightful walk. We thought it was definitely worth it because it's extremely quiet at night in this part of town, which we loved. If we ever go back to Rotheburg, we would definitely stay here.

We stayed in December during the Christmas markets. We were in the apartment just around the corner from the hotel. It was large, comfortable, and clean. A little worn. The people who run the hotel are lovely. And the location was wonderful, easy walking distance to everything in the village. They were very helpful in making sure my son, who has a dairy allergy, had something to eat for breakfast. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful village.

Dear hotelguest, thank you for your visit and your comment. We offer different family apartments, and you had the flat Klosterhof. This flat was renovated just after your departure in February / March, which is the quiet time in Rothenburg.
We also got a new web site which shows each room, suite and flat, and certain rooms can be ordered if booked through our web site.

This was the nicest hotel we stayed at in Germany. It does not feel like a hotel, more like you are staying in someone's home. The room was huge and had a lovely view. It was very cosy and had a cottage like feel. The bathroom was modern with all amenities. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good though there could be more variety. All the attractions are a short walk from the hotel. We picked up a map from the front desk where they marked the key attractions for us. I would certainly stay here when visiting Rothenburg again.

We just spent 3 nights in the hotel's apartment with our two sons aged 15 and 18. It is a great space with plenty of room and character too. This was our second trip to Rothenburg for the Christmas market and we had a great time. The hotel's breakfast was very good and the staff were all helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Rothenburg is beautiful!

We have just finished our second stay at the Burg Hotel. First time was 4 years ago sans children in Autumn, this time with our 2 children in winter. Rothenburg was charming covered in snow and the Burghotel snug, cosy and very well situated. Staff are friendly and breakfast was great. Highly recommended !

We had a family room and could not have been happier with the room, location and breakfast. A great place. A short walk to everything and a good breakfast with a great view. This is a must stay place.
