First of all if you are considering Rothemburg then you planning a trip to one of the most beatull areas that we have visited. Considering that we have traveled to most continents, have flown over 2 million miles as paying passengers and before that were both airline employees we can be consdered "experts" in valuating good hotels. Although we had visited Berlin, we had never traveled to the real Germany. This trip changed all the erroneous ideas which we may have had. Meeting the peole that own and work at the Markusturn was an essential part of the reasons why we now consider Germany one of our favorite destinations to which we will return soon.

We had planned on staying for 3 nights but after the first day we knew we did not want to leave Rothemburgh. So we cancelled our reservations at the Hilton Frankfurt and decided to drive directly from the Markusturn to FRA.

The rooms at tha hotel are excellent and the location could not be better. Pay a little extra and get a Superior Room. It is worth every penny. They are very spacious with better than expected beds. They accomodate your every wish. Even the hotel restaurant is excellent. Stephan hotel owner-chef tries to please you. The breakfast is excellent. As to their frienliness just an example: Since we had decided to stay an extra night and we had an 11:00 am flight from FRA we had to leave at 6:15 am. They start breakfast service at 7:00am. The night before they gave us a tour of the kitchen and showed us how to operate the expresso machine so that we could make our coffee. Since they wanted us to eat something before embarking in the trip to FRA, we were told to help ourselves with pastries, cheeze, etc., All the staff is extremely frienly. Will we stay at another hotel in Rohemburgh? NO. This is it. This is home in Germany.

My husband booked this hotel for us for a one night stay in Rothenburg. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing. Upon arrival, they sent a staff member out to not only bring our bags up to our room, but to park our car for us! Parking only costs 3 Euro per night, which is so nice, considering most hotels don't have parking or charge at least 10 Euro a night! We had forgot to ask for a baby cot, and after letting them know we would be needing one, the housekeeper immediately brought it to us. The location is perfect, located directly downtown. The hotel itself, was very nice, it had an "antique" decor style. Our room had a nice sized bathroom, the bedroom, and then a sitting area with the tv and where an extra person could sleep. The hotel also serves dinner and breakfast, and the staff were very kind in inviting us to join. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

When we drove to Rothenburg our booked hotel was closed! That was 6pm and we were frustruated, and spotted this eyecatching hotel. They gave us a very large room with a sitting room and spacious bathroom! The antique inside the hotel is worth to be photographed. The restaurant for breakfast was also beautiful. You just forget you are in 21st century once you enter the entrance hall. Great and thank you!

Just returned from 5 days in Germany where we were astounded at Rotenburg. We stayed at the Markustrum Hotel by the Romantik line and it was fabulous not to mention picturesque. Great location. We needed a triple...we went with our study abroad daughter...and the room was large, well kept, nice view and clean. (Sometimes triples are hard to come by.) Hotel staff, "Andrea", made us feel welcome from the first e-mail- to phone call- to finally welcoming us personally to the Hotel. The Night Watchman's Tour was everything that we had expected...in fact...better than advertised. The "wall" was fun to walk and just being in this charming town was a hightlight. A tip if going to the Christmas store, if possible, go after the tour groups leave for no waiting to check out.
