Hotel Eisenhut was our first stop on a two-week vacation with our teenagers. We had adjacent rooms with a connecting balcony and beautiful view of the valley. The rooms were clean and well out-fitted . . . comfortable beds and overall spaciousness. The bathroom was nicely done and had a quirky sunken tub flanked by a mermaid mosaic that I wish I had taken a picture of. Very fun! The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Lots of hot and cold items to choose from. The Staff was amazingly helpful. They even puttered around with our gps trying to help us switch it to English (eventually helping us realize that WASN'T an option.) We all had a good laugh about that. The hotel is actually easy to get to. Do not be deterred by the no cars allowed signs . . . if you are staying at a hotel, you are allowed to drive to your accommodation. The hotel is very well situated for exploring the entire town on foot. You're in the middle of everything at the Hotel Eisenhut.

Room Tip: I think that the ones overlooking the valley toward the back have a great view, but the ones facing...

We had a wonderful late lunch on a Saturday afternoon at Hotel Eisenhut. The town of Rothenburg was very crowded, because of the Fall festival going on all weekend. We had heard they had a nice deck for lunch and decided to check it out. The greeeting was very friendly and the area was at the very back of their hotel, so it was very removed from the crowds out on the streets. They also have a very nice and appealing side walk eating patio at the front of the hotel entrance.

The service and food was excellent. The view was wonderful up high on a very large deck at least thirty five tables with comfortable and appealing outdoor furniture/tables and umbrellas for sunny days , so every table had a great view of either the towns medival wall that encircles the original town, or a great view of the distant rolling hillside beyond. The price for lunch was very inline for the quality of the restaurant and service. WOULD RECOMMEND VERY HIGHLY.

My wife and I spent one night at this charming hotel in the centre of town. We had a bright, airy bedroom with a small balcony and view over the surrounding countryside. It was well equipped and maintained, as was the bathroom. There was free WIFI. Very good breakfast selection. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was beautiful our first room was lovely and huge with a big bath but noticed tiles coming off so we told the service desk and they moved us to another room which.wasn't as big but still lovely and we had a beautiful view of the hills etc when we woke up.

Dear freshy76,

thank you for your kind comments. We're very sorry that your first room did not meet your expectations. It is a historical building, where we are still renovating. A little explanation to our various rooms: In the past lived the majors and patricians in the rooms with the better view to street to see whats happened in the city. So all employees of them, get the smaller rooms background, but including the nicer view over the Tauber Valley.
Now, they are a little bit smaller then the rooms with the view to the streets, but really nice with balcony and a nice view over the Tauber Valley.

Best wishes from the Hotel Eisenhut

Sadly, my daughter and I only had one day in this hotel that was remarkable. The lobby made us feel like we entered a very classy medieval castle. The rooms were very dated -- of which I was very very very glad -- please don't change a thing!!!! If someone is looking for updated stuff, they're in the wrong town! Remarkable pieces of art, furniture, enormous stairways, fabulous medieval doors... absolutely fantastic. They even had umbrellas to borrow (very nice detail). The restaurants.... oh my. Talk about luxury. Pricey food for me, but it was worth it. The breakfast even had champagne. It was surreal, although we live very comfortably in Canada. I realized how very little history we have at home. This was first class. Only complaint.... where is the horse and buggy on the photo? Doesn't exist. And it was very very difficult to know how to get to the hotel bar car. A map for drivers would be useful.

Room Tip: In the main building (they have another one across the road)

We loved our room and view. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed the charm of the area. The romantic drive is so worth it. There is no doubt that it is a tourist sight, but so what, I was a tourist. Really enjoyed our time there and the room rate was very reasonable. Really enjoyed walking around and taking in the whole experience. Though most of the town was rebuilt to look as if they were built in the Middle Ages, after the original historic buildings were demolished during WWII, you still felt like you were experiencing what it was like to live in Germany in the Middle Ages. I would highly recommend this Hotel. I would love to visit during the Christmas Holiday, the photos I saw during that season look like a beautiful fantasy Land!!

What is there not to LOVE about this gorgeous hotel, Eisenhut. We only had 1 night at this wonderful, central hotel, would loved to have stayed longer. The hotel is in a great spot. From the time you walk into this place there is just history everywhere. The reception staff were very welcoming and professional. We had room 344 (in the main building), looking out into the main street. Our room was huge. The bed, pillows mattress & doona was all great. Extra pillows in room if needed. A pale pink & marble bathroom had everything that you would want. I absolutely loved the decor of this hotel, from the rooms, reception, hall ways, dining & breakfast rooms all were lovely decorated. We had a great meal in the main dining room, the food was very good. Service, excellant. The breakfast room had everything and I mean everything that you could possibly want, even had a waffle maker so that you could make your own waffles (only hotel in Germany that I came across with this).Only negative about this hotel was that I didn't get to stay much much longer. If I was ever going to go back to Rothenburg, I would definitely stay at this beautiful hotel again.

Room Tip: You will LOVE everything about this hotel....
