Having stayed in seven hotels, guesthouses, and pensions throughout our trip to Bavaria and Salzburg, this was the worst place we stayed. There was a heat wave going on and, like all but one of the other places, this one had no AC. However, this one was the hottest. After a rather chilly (no pun intended) reception, we were shown to our room which was actually two buildings behind the cafe/hotel in another small building. Our room, #10, was so tiny the two of us could hardly walk, much less have room for our suitcases. The room was clean, but it also had a two windows that opened up right onto the street where horse-driven carriage tours were constantly going by. The tourists on the carriages had a view directly into our room. Now, had we been able to close the windows and drapes, this would not have posed much of a problem; however, had we done so, we would have died of heat stroke. Despite this, we looked forward to the complimentary breakfast the next morning, since the owners run an excellent cafe in the bottom of the original building, loaded with cakes, pastries and the like. However, this was the most limited breakfast we were offered in all of our stays. Pretty much it was regular old rolls and some cereal. On top of all this, the price was not that great, especially compared to some of the other places we stayed and what we got.
