Fascinating to see what the convent was once like in a number of rooms especially the 13th century kitchen. There are many sections to visit with collections of paintings, sculptures, furniture, ceramics, guns & drums covering 9 centuries.
The Judiaca section is worth a visit as the esteemed Rabbi Meir Ben Baruch von Rothenburg (buried in Worms near Mannheim)taught at a Talmud School & Synagogue in the Kapellenplatz, once the 1st Jewish Quarter in Rothenburg which ceased to exist in 1349 after repeated waves of persecution. Many of the Rabbis histroy & writings are held in this Museum along with other objects of historical importance.

Give yourself about 30 minutes to walk through this museum. There are explanations in German and in English, although the English translations could use a little work :-)
Don't miss the dungeons, which are at the end next to the ticket desk. I would have paid money just to see this part of the building.

This museum has extensive collections of beer steins, weapons, armor, dishes, etc. We spent about 2 hours and could have spent quite a few more if we had specific, detailed interest in any of the above collections. Well worth the time visiting.

The museum had everything to show the history of the town and of the people who lived there. It is a much larger museum that it appears to be on the outside. We spent at least two hours and could have stayed longer if we had not tired out!

The Reichstadtmuseum has a very good collection to understand Rothenburg's history. The Rothenburg Passion is impressive.
