The Church dates back from the 15th century. The order of Saint John had a hospital in the Tauber city since 1227. This hospital was due to the risk of infection on the outskirts before the former South Gate, the St. John's Gate. Around the year 1400, the Hospitallers enlarged the church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. On the outer wall of the St. John's Church are the sculptures of John are the Baptist and St. Christopher. It is now an Evangelic church, which means to say that it is a rather empty interior. But the exterior is great!
