We arrived without reservations right at the opening. We had a group of 9 including a baby. The owner seated us without delay, accommodating the baby. We did not encounter any racism, as one of the previous reviewers indicated. We were a diverse group, including Germans, Americans and Mexicans. The food was great, focused on local cuisine with good meats, gravies and dumplings. The owner visited with us numerous times and served us personally. I would very much recommend this restaurant. The owner indicated that this may be his last season, due to high tariffs and taxes imposed by the city and state. It would be a shame.
The atmosphere is good with the restaurant being located in the cellar with old and curved ceilings. There are also a few outside tables right on the cobblestone side walk.
