Stayed here for one night a few days ago. I chose this hotel bases on TA reviews and I was not disappointed.

I booked a 3 bed room online, it turned out to be very spacious, including a large modern bathroom.
The beds are SO COMFORTABLE! I just love the orthopaedic mattress!
All the amenities like soap, shampoo are provided.
They served up a decent German breakfast.
The service was very friendly.

My only dislikes -

Some rooms can get a bit of noise from cars driving past becuase the road is cobble stoned - close the window or bring ear plugs.

Room 23 (or room) - has a street light outside the window - you MUST bring a night mask to sleep if light affects you. If the hotel put in some blinds in this room it would not be a problem.

Other than that, a good choice.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the road

What a great value for inside the walled city and with parking for our rental car. The staff could not have been nicer. Our room was clean with old world charm (OK the bath was kinda dated) and had a street view of the old city. Easy walk to market square. The breakfast was included and above average.

In April 2012, I rented a car in Frankfurt with Sixt (the best deal then) and drove through Germany, Austria, Slovakia (Bratislava only) Slovenia and Croatia for 25 days. I stayed in 20 hotels and spent an average of 72 Can/US dollars per night, which is way cheaper than the prices in Canada and USA. Based on this experience, I will rate those 20 hotels.

SECOND REVIEW: Gasthof Zum Breiterie, Rothenburg

Beautiful, small family hotel, with a great restaurant (as I was told, I'm a vegan, so I starved in Germany), pretty room. The hotel is located inside the town walls, close to everything. The price was ok (65 EUROS/91.60 CAN), considering that Rothenburg is such a touristic town. Free internet, free parking across the hotel.

We have stayed here twice and are planning to come back and visit the Christmas Markets. Great price as it stays the same price through out the year. Hotel is within the city walls and walking distance from the Romantic Road Bus stop and also from the station. Hotel owner is Michael who when a child lived in Australia with his parents. Easy to everything you want to see and the rooms are good value with ensuite. We were there for the week-end they celebrated 700 years of their town, so accomodation is very very old compared to what you may find in other parts of the world - but surely that is part of the charm and why we go.

I wandered into the old town and whilst looking for somewhere to eat I noticed this quaint/quirky little hotel and decided to stay the night. It's managed by an Irish couple (he lived in Australia for a few years). Nice and cheap, with very friendly service and good traditional fare. Located just inside the wall in the old town, easy walk to everything. key access if you come back late. Car parking available. If you are looking for cheap 4 star accommodation this is not the place. Nothing fancy, no lift but I liked this place.
