Hotel Hirsch is perfectly located to the various castles in the area.

Rooms were clean, the Wi-Fi was fast and free in the rooms, and the staff friendly and attentive. There was plenty of free on site parking, and a moderate buffet breakfast was included with the stay.

The only detractors were no fitness centre, old style keyed locks (no swipe cards), and the Wi-Fi was not very good in the restaurant / bar.

If I could tailor every accommodation experience, Hotel Hirsch would epitomize it. I loved it because the staff was friendly and genuinely strove to make your experience enjoyable. The property is small and well maintained. The location is perfect to explore the nice old town center. The breakfast buffet in the dining room consisted of fresh and tasty option like fresh fruit, eggs, rolls and meat. Wifi was also free. This was a solid accommodation option.

Enjoyed staying at this hotel for 2 nights during our tour. It was perfectly charming. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They arranged our tours of the the castles - Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. Not to be missed! The rooms were spacious and very clean. The breakfast and dinner (included) were delicious! The location is perfect! We even enjoyed a complimentary carriage ride through the countryside:) If you have time or a cold and rainy afternoon as we did. We recommend the Konigliche Dristall-Therme am Kurpark. The local spa. Very fun and interesting for us Americans to see how the Europeans relax?

We stayed in the Mountain Sauling suite and thought it rustically beautiful. We would have had a great view of the mountains, but it was raining during our stay so the views were somewhat muted at best. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept soundly both nights.
The hotel is just a very short walk to the old city center which has some nice shops and is very picturesque. I bought a beautiful down vest marked down by 80 euros and got a great deal of use out of it during a lot of the cold, rainy weather on our trip.
We ate breakfast & dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was a very nice buffet in their lovely breakfast room. The first night we ate dinner in their pub with the locals, and it was a lot of fun. They seated another American couple with us later in the evening when it got crowded. A good time was had by all. The food on this night was excellent as May is white asparagus season in much of Europe, and I got a dinner with the asparagus and probably the best weiner schnitzel I've every tasted!
The next night we ate in the regular dining room. We had a warm tomato and avocado salad which was superb. My husband this night chose the weiner schnitzel, and I chose the pan-fried rumpsteak with baked potato and sour cream. My dish was a huge disappointment! It was three thin slices of roast beef that tasted old and like it had been cooked in a microwave. The potatoes were diced and not completely cooked through and coated with some kind of sauce.
All in all we loved the hotel and almost all of the food we had. It was easy in & out with a car and free parking. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

Loved our stay on property in May. Close to all Fussen sites. Short 5 minutes by car to castles. Rooms are quaint - authentic. Staff goes out of way to make your experience memorable. Eat in the pub area for dinner with locals. We had a great time - get the crusted pork with dumplings! Loved it!

Hotel Hirsch is a very good quality hotel in Fussen. Just cross the street and through the gate and you are in the old city center. A very short walk to Fussen's own castle and a nice walking trail along the river.

The room itself was very large with large French door-type windows that you could open. It had a large sitting area and a small desk. The bathroom had heated floors but the light was not good for putting on makeup. The shower head in our room was a handheld unit with a bathtub which made showering a bit difficult, though certainly not impossible. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was a nice selection of food, buffet-style. The hotel has a terrace outside where you could sit if the weather was warm.

The staff at reception and at breakfast service were very courteous.

There are a good number of shops and restaurants in town though we were there on a Sunday so most of the shops were closed, but we did enjoy a walk by the river.

Room Tip: You can't see Neuschwanstein Castle from Fussen as there is a mountain in between.

This was our second stop on our trip, other stays were in Amsterdam and Rome, this Hotel was very comfortable and clean. We arrived by train, and with suitcases in tow it was an easy walk from the train station. We had a triple room, 3rd bed for our teenager. The third bed was off to the side in its own alcove which made it a bit more cozy for all. The room was a nice size and decor was charming. Breakfast buffet offered choices of breads, meats, eggs, fruits and yogurts, nice start to the day. Hotel is situated a block from the bus stop that takes you to the castles. It is also an easy walk to the shops and town restaurants. Scenery of the area was perfect. Staff was very helpful and friendly. One other thing to note is the hotel is right by a Main Street which makes access to area simple but as they remodeled recently they also chose excellent windows, we had no street noise at all. Room was quiet, bed comfortable, definitely would go back. Shower and bath room was also new and clean, best choice of our trip.
