“Excellent hotel ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

We were recommended this family friendly hotel by a friend of us, and we were not disappointed.
It is very centrally located in fussen and only 5-10 min. by car to get to the castles. It also has an underground parking.
We had a larger panoramic suite (studio style) and slept comfortably four. It has a very nice spa with saunas and a large relax area. The hotel also has an ok fitness area, and a play room for small children.
We definitely recommend the hotel's Bavarian restaurant.

The hotel is very good, well located, easy parking(supplement to be paid), two nice restaurants. What to tell about the room, we had a very nice surprise, we booked a deluxe room and had a promotion to the "Neuschwanstein suite" which was an unbelievable nice experience, therefore, I shared with you some pictures of it

Room Tip: Do not hesitate to book a superior room

Our family of four stayed here overnight in order to take in the the famous castles of King Ludwig. Our quad room was very comfortable! Nice choices in restaurants and a very ample breakfast with numerous options from eggs, meats, and cheeses to pastries and pretzels. Nice spa area as well. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay here!!

Room Tip: If you need a room with air condition make sure to confirm this prior to arrival.

We arrived late in Fuessen and despite being given detailed night entrance instructions from the staff, we were greeted past midnight by one of the staff to help us in and explain the night entrance to the hotel. The room was amazing. The glass doors to the bathroom/shower are beautiful but may be impractical if you are staying with someone you may not already be intimate with.

The complimentary breakfast was the most extensive we saw in any hotel on trip - not just croissants and a meat array, but also eggs, bacon and pancakes - and the bacon was the best we have ever had. It was crispy and yet melted in your mouth - it was not fatty or greasy like you would expect from a buffet style breakfast. The second morning of our stay they also had a chocolate fountain with strawberries - AMAZING.

The hotel staff spoke English well and recommended all of the local sights, including the castles we came to see. They also gave us a pass to ride the bus without charge (that you return when you are finished to the front desk). This hotel was almost more exciting by itself without the city sights and we would definitely stay again. It is also located right next to the train station - when we arrived we tried to get a taxi and he honestly just pointed down the street a block and said it was close enough there was no need for a taxi.

Room Tip: Know that the part of the bathroom that contains the shower is completely see-through from the main...

Came to town without reservations on a freewheeling adventure. The hotel looked nice and had rooms at a reasonable price. We loved it. We were in building 1 (the building with the reception office) with a room facing the street on the third floor. We had a beautiful view of the mountains. Street noise was significant but we were able to close our window as the room had AC. The room was spotless and the staff were very helpful despite our lack of German language skills. The included breakfast had a good selection and was very well presented. We really enjoyed our stay. That being said, there are a few things one might consider. Our travel mates were assigned a room at the back of the hotel and they told us they did not have AC. This was not a problem as the weather was very pleasant and they were able to leave their window/door open (they had a small balcony by the way that we did not). Because they were at the back of the building, noise was not a problem. For us it was, but we had AC....so window closed, problem solved. The bathrooms were quite nice. The door to the shower area, (which included a large soaking tub) as well as the shower enclosure itself, was comprised of clear glass. Not an issue for us but if you are a female traveling with your brother, for example, showering might require coordination. I highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front have an excellent view, rooms in the back often have balconies and are much quiet...

This was the third stay at this particular hotel en-route from the UK to Italy, it is an excellent hotel with very helpful accommodating staff, located in an ideal position in the center of Fussen. Rooms, particularly in the new part of the hotel are very nice, breakfast included in the rate, also have 2 excellent restaurants if you choose to eat in the hotel. Underground car parking available at the hotel which for us was ideal as we had a car full of bits and pieces.
Overall would recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: The new part of the hotel, where reception is located is our preferred part of the hotel, older part...

We very much enjoyed staying at the Hotel Schlosskrone, once we managed to get the rented van parked (we're still waiting to hear from Sixt whether or not their insurance will cover the scrape). The parking is convenient, but difficult to negotiate. The hotel was very nice, the staff was helpful and the room was surprisingly large with two queen sized beds. The included breakfast was a well done buffet. We would stay again.
