Great choice. I stay for one night with my wife. The hotel is very well located, very clean, and the staff it's very usefull. The room had a good space, the restaurant it's a very good choice for dinner (bavarian food).
They have a SPA area that is free after 3pm and it's very relaxing. We recommend 100%.

Stayed here for a night so we could see the castle in this quaint little but busy tourist town. We had a nice comfortable room with a view overlooking the town. The AC was great, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. We had dinner one night in the German restaurant (there is also an Italian restaurant) and the meal was one of the best we had in Germany. The only thing that prevents me from giving this hotel a perfect rating is that the parking is a lite funky. It's safe and secure but it was confusing to some people as its a a narrow spiral and only one car can go in or out at a time. Once we figured it out it went well and the hotel set it up the best it could but you could see a lot of cars couldn't make the turns and scraped the wall. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Fussen and can highly recommend this hotel.. Just be careful parking !

Perfectly located - within striking distance to Neuschwanstein, at the entrance to the town. The family room is enough for a family of 4, the internet pricing on the hotel website offered a fantastic deal. Helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Parking.

Room Tip: If at all - you need to avoid the rooms on the main road.

Our family of 4 had a nice stay in early July in this hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located and comes with a very nice breakfast, with a huge selection of food, although I was a little disappointed that some of the more popular items were not replenished (at least not promptly) when they ran out. Our room was nice enough but my major complaint was the lack of air conditioning (and we felt that the central air was kept a little too warm considering it was July); I was also disappointed by the very weak wi-fi signal in our room but I encountered the same thing at most of the hotels we stayed at in Germany and Austria so I guess this is to be expected. One thing that made up for everything else was the extremely helpful front desk staff; they were always very friendly and went way out of their way to help us, all while staying always cheerful. I would stay here again, although not in the summer unless I was guaranteed a room with AC.

Apart of the perfect location, this hotel can be really proud of its great receptionists - very friendly and always ready to help.
The garage is not that big and it costs 9EUR/day and I think it is convenient to use it since your car is safe and there is an elevator that goes up directly from the garage.
The interent signal very poor, except in the lobby and the Chilly restaurant. The breakfast was nothing special, sometimes I got the feeling that cheese for example was cut even the night before.
There is no central AC, only the fan. We got the room on the second floor of their "west wing" as they call it, street view - so a bit too noisy, but with a nice balcony. Our room was spacious enough - we had two double bads and a bathroom with "normal" door, not the glass one.
The day we arrived we managed to walk around the city centre - small but nice, more or less the architecture reminids us of any other small old German town.
The hotel is 5-10 mins drive to "the castles starting visiting point". I say "starting" since depending on the long lines and the fact of having or not having previosly booked tickets, waiting for your exact time of the visit etc. etc it could take up to 5 hrs to see the Neuschwanstein and the Hohenschwangau Castles.

Room Tip: If you get the room you don't like, complain. :-)

By the time we got round to booking our hotel in Fussen, almost everything was gone as it is peak season right now. We settled on Schlosskrone because of the good reviews and also because they offered a family room which was useful as we were travelling with our 2 young kids.

I forgot to inform them that we would require a car park but luckily there was still space in their underground car park. Very convenient and costs 9 euros per day.

Reception staff were lovely, very welcoming and friendly and informative. Our hotel key card indicated we had been upgraded but I can't determine what type of room we were ultimately given - nevertheless, we were in the new wing and on the top floor. Our room had a small balcony with a view of the Hohes Schloss.

The room was very large and they had made up the double sofa bed for the kids. Beds were big and comfy with lovely large pillows.

Bathroom was also huge with attached WC and bath and accessible through clear glass doors (not suitable for sharing with teenage kids!) There wasn't much ventilation in the bathroom which was a problem as it got so hot - actually the whole room was very hot during the day and there didn't seem to be any air conditioning. We were given a fan which helped a bit.

TV came with international channels, such as BBC and CNN.

We had dinner at the Bavarian restaurant attached to the hotel and were a bit disappointed. The pork knuckle was not tender and melting like we expected and when we mentioned this to the waitress, she merely shrugged and said that that was not always the case.

Breakfast in the morning was good, with very good brezel and croissant on offer, as well as cereal, cheeses, cold cuts and various styles of egg.

We didn't get to investigate the town much as we arrived in the evening and were gone the next morning but the hotel is very centrally located, next to the Hotel Sonne and less than 5km to the royal castles.

Room Tip: In the summer get a room with air cond especially if you are higher up.

My husband and I stayed here one night on our European road trip vacation in July 2013. We checked in rather late and headed straight to town to get a bite to eat at one of the many local restaurants. The hotel is perfectly located right in the center of a very charming Bavarian town with friendly locals, great restaurants and cute shops. Our room over looked the town and was clean, spacious, great bathroom and even had plenty of closet space. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was a great spread of pastries, cold cuts, eggs, vegetables, yogurts etc. then we headed out to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Great hotel, friendly staff, perfect location....would definitely stay again in the future!

The only negative was that the parking was full by the time we checked in so we had to park in a garage off site.
