In a trip around Germany and staying at various hostels within the German Hostel association I have to say this was my least favorite. While the price was right it wasn't as nice as others we had stayed in. I realize that it's a level 3 and therefore would be lacking certain things but I would of thought the food would be somewhat consistent. The rooms and bathrooms were old and worn. As well the noise level of school children was very very loud. We only stayed here on day and I guess my disappointment was that my brother found a B& B closer to the castle that was private, new and only slightly more expensive.
The cost of room and breakfast for a family is still reasonalble
Easy walk to town centre
Parking: Couldn't park on street and had difficulty locating one.
Train tracks right next to bldg- although it didn't wake us it would be of concern
to families with younger children and the safety factor
The lack of personality of the overall area- kind of dull
Check in time: they are late in day and we had to wait for while. Every other one we may not have got our room but at least we were able to complete paperwork. There was no on there for periods of time
