“good location- needs to improve service”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

We stayed here for three nights. Excellent location in the centre of town although difficult to find the hotel parking area via the sat nav due to pedestrian zones. Rooms were large and clean. with nice bathroom. Wi-Fi worked fine in all areas for us.Breakfast was fine. We were on the fourth floor and there was no elevator, so we chose to leave our large suitcase in the car and just took things out as we needed them. Nothing to complain about with this hotel, but what it lacked was 'personal service'

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front.

I stayed one night here for the purpose of sightseeing nearby castles.
I stayed single room. The room was very clean and nothing to complain about.
There is a restaurant downstairs, and it serves OK food, too.
Just want to mention that there is no elevator in this hotel.

Nice friendly staff, very central. Room was in the rear without AC... VERY HOT,
Wi-Fi simply doesn’t work at all and when we complain about that they are unable to solve it. Some noise from the kitchen shimmy in early morning. Nice breakfast. Needs improvement in many issues.

Room Tip: Never ask for the rooms in the backyard

Location is wonderful, right at the pedestrian shopping area of downtown. Free parking behind the hotel. Reception is not always open, staff mostly friendly but not very professional, more like a family guesthouse style. Room was large, we had 3rd floor with nice view of the Hohes Schloss castle. No minibar/fridge in room. They don't have an ice machine so not possible to request a larger number of ice cubes for room. Bed was average. Shower and bathroom were average. Shampoo was only available in small tear-off mini bags and they were not replaced the next day. Breakfast was average too but things ran out easily and were only reluctantly replaced after asking for it - and would run out again within minutes (like the good ham, fruit salad). Staff later apologized for this but it still was a negative issue of this hotel. Didn't try the restaurant for dinner as there were many other options within a short walk. Prices seemed a bit high. The building is quite nice but no elevator. Outside sitting area of restaurant is cozy right on the street side.

The hotel located at the very center on a pedastrian street, but very hard to find by car, the small parking area behind the hotel (at the back yard) is available for free. WiFi is free as well. There are no lift and rooms are very ascetic and cold. It's better to turn on the heating in advance to get the room warm by night. Breakfast is served by 10 a.m. No hot dishes served but there strawberry & kiwi, ham & Philadelphia cheese. Breakfast cost is 7 euro per person.

Just 5 minutes drive to castles and funicular.

If you drive to Fussen, please note that the frontage is on a pedestrianised high street. The car park is down a side road around the back of the hotel. Fair enough, but we did no know this and there are no signs.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon with just three people serving the packed restaurant AND greeting incoming hotel guests. They were stressed - welcoming smiles were not on the agenda!
After eating out in the town we went back to the hotel for a night cap and some desserts.
We waited to give our room number or pay for this but no one came by [it wasn't late]. In the end, we waited by the kitchen/reception area - in all about 20 minutes.
We decided to retire to our rooms and all of a sudden we were 'jumped on'!
Apparently the restaurant is a separate cost centre or business so we could not have put the bar bill on our room bill. That's no problem but we did't know this.
The staff were very officious with us at that point but they were the same people who greeted us when we arrived so they were now not only stressed but also knackered.
No lift.
No disabled access.
Fire escape access was through the bedroom window. Is that normal?

our Family room was on the 4th floor and 6/7 flights of stairs to get there, no lift. Good location and easy to walk around the town itself. Parking at the rear was a bit tight at times, and we had to park away from the hotel and get up early the next morning to make sure car still there.
Short drive to Garmish (snow) and King Ludwigs castles etc. Beautiful area if you take the back road to Ludwigs Lindhorf castle. Breathtaking.
